Be from Serbia

>be from Serbia
>our dinar keeps getting lower and lower
>mfw it's 124 dinars for 1 euro now
>mfw it's probably going to drop to 128/1 despite the euro falling against dollar possibly to parity
>mfw anything imported is increasingly unobtainable to the general population

A-at least I get paid in USD so technically all this is great for me.

Does anyone else know the feel of shattered economy with tanking currency

When I was in Iraq killing towelheads I acquired 50 million Iraq dinar. It still isn't worth the cost of the postage I used to send it back to the states.

Ay sorry man. That seems rough for you guys, coupled with the wars in that area not too long ago, plus the persistent racism towards, well, everyone Serbs vs Croats vs Muslims vs Everyone.

you gotta see the positive. Like you said, its good for you since you're getting paid in USD. Keep it up man.

mexifag here living in san diego working across the border earning pesos. i feel you.

>43,000 dollars

???

>feel of shattered economy with tanking currency
that is a good thing for young economies, since you may rise your exports and get more investment into the country. the people are the ones that bite it, but if you want your countries economy to prosper and get more jobs and employment, that is the way to go.

Towlheads are sihks, They are usually pretty nice, You were probably killing cave monkeys.

hungarian here ask me anything about failing!

Where at? Also in San Diego and would like you deported.

Except, for exports to rise, politicians would have to pull their head out their asses.
Take slovakia for example. The farmers and small businesses are under such an enormous pressure from the state and EU regulations that most of them just straight up close because in order for them to net a profit, they would have to ask double the money for their product. But the average slovak is limited on money and rather buys lentils imported from canada because they end up cheaper in the supermarket as inland produce. Im sure the deal is similar in the balkans and eastern yurop in general, as that other hungarian user said.

700€ min wage (supposedly, actually around 300-400)
150-300€ pension

here is what you have to do, it's very simple if you can do it you become the greatest nation on earth fast:
shoot corrupt politicians! hell shoot the honest ones if they don't deliver on their promises twice in a row!

>shoot corrupt politicians! hell shoot the honest ones if they don't deliver on their promises twice in a row!

corruption is the grease that makes the economy flow, no corruption brings the economy to standstill as seen in idiotic communism (political corruption through cronysim excluded), too much corruption makes it a greasy nation like albania or some other failed state.

>no corruption brings the economy to standstill as seen in idiotic communism
what the fuck did i just read? dude corruption is a net loss on a countries economic capacity. it's not a grease it's a fucking glue.

The actual problem is that our national bank is trying to keep it that way, if they stopped wasting money on trying to keep it like that it would plummet to like 200 for 1, maybe even closer to the Hungarian forint.
This would actually be a good thing because it would be cheaper to export stuff to the eurozone.
People don't have faith in our currency, because of the hyperinflation in the 90s, that's why everyone saves up in euros. And it plummeted during 2008 for a variety of reasons, if you remember back in the day when it was closer to 60-70 to the euro.

An alternative would be to just switch to the euro. We can do that easily, tho the EU would not like it, but fuck them. Tho this alternative poses many other problems, in regards to prices, debt, ability to print money etc. I personally don't like this option, the negatives outweigh the positives.
However if you want to read about the pros of this option here's an article from 2011, by good ol' Labus.

Communist government were extremely corrupt, what are you talking about.

Corruption is a problem because it causes uncertainty, especially institutionalized yet decentralized corruption. It's risk, just like interest rates, and if you have to bribe 5 officials to get something done you'll never know if one of them decides to screw you over.

>it would be cheaper to export stuff to the eurozon
you don't get what the eu is all about right? it's a protectionist market deliberately set up to make imports expensive (especially protecting the big 4: france germany, italy and uk). if you want to export into eu countries get in the fucking eu!

>Communist government were extremely corrupt, what are you talking about.
well my guess is he never had the bad fortune to know what it's like to "build the socialism".

corruption is simply defined: making sub-optimal choices at the expense of taxpayers for personal gain. there is no way in hell this could ever be a good thing.

I know, but Serbia has signed the stabilization and association agreement which allows free(er) trade.
With the national bank keeping such an exchange rate the EU agricultural products have started flooding the market and farmers are moaning for subsidies, letting the currency slide helps here as well.

If you can manage your national currency, you should.

I knew a faggot from Belgrade named Milan Sekulic once. His twin brother was Dragan. He (Milan, not Dragan, although I did not know Dragan) was a total derpe.

Anyway, sucks to be a Srpskibro in these times. Hope it gets better.

The problem in Slovakia is people expect to get something for nothing. There absolutely is work to be done but folks refuse to do it. Folks expecting other people solving their problems for them. Folks with 0 qualifications bitching about shit jobs. Folks who would rather live in misery than move their asses.

Similar thing with all the post-communist countries.

Source: I emigrated from Slovakia

>Similar thing with all the post-communist countries.
