When Shadowverse went to shit again I went to my local game store to play Magic for the first time in an event and it was really fun. It was way harder but there were a lot of meaningful decisions to make and I never felt that my opponent and I were just waiting out each other's best plays on curve.

Blood went Merman, Tove, Goblin Leader, Alice. I had a decent early curve but took a bit of damage. Gawain on 4 into Roland on 6 just isn't as safe going second.
After stabilizing, I just played three Grimnirs in a row after Roland hit face once and 2 self damage from BKB. I would have been crushed if I went second.
