get away from it as soon as possible. Also do IJN too, run parallel CV games so you get to used to playing IJN not just USN. Be conservative with your planes since your hangar space sucks horribly bad. Get away from tier 4 and 5 asasp and get to t6 so you can practice your Manual drops and strafe.
