Hmm, that's a tough one as it depends a lot more on what you're looking for in the game. Steel Faith Overhaul is nice if you want a meatier challenge. Lorehammer if you want your game to reflect the tabletop more.

If I can only recommend one mod as a "must have", I'd say GCCM.

It's a huge map-pack that adds like 100 new maps to the game. No more fighting in baren open fields and the same stock siege for the 10000th time.

Thanks for the advice, what is GCCM? probably gonna stay away from overhauls for the time being until i do a few more campaigns.

To elaborate, i mean like what kind of maps does it add? is it more taxing on performance

As I said GCCM is some cryptic acronym for something-something.

The point is, like I said, a map pack that adds a ton more flavor to the game by assigning hand-made maps to specific villages/cities/places so you get a ton of new cool places to fight on. Most of them are lore-friendly too, people having read all the books and stuff and recreating it from that.

It doesn't hit performance at all as all it uses are already-existing assets placed and resized more creatively.

The AI also navigates them about as well as they navigate normal maps, and will take advantage of LOS, chokeholds and such.

Pic related is another example. Instead of fighting for a town with no walls on a baren field, you instead fight them inside a town with no walls.

How would you feel about some kind of VR experience for TW:W? I was playing around with my brother's Oculus and I couldn't help but thinkg about how cool it would be to get a soldier's eye view of a Warhammer battle. I have no idea if they could actually make gameplay work in VR but being able to see a battle in VR would at least be cool. No idea if it would be viable from a developer's standpoint, though.

Easiest way is to use tw camera as the VR point of view.
Could be fun walking around the battlefield with an ongoing battle.
