/twg/ - Total War General

I don't think /twg/ is very good at baking bread edition.

FIRST FOR

I AM ________ AND _________

Max and mad

Me on the right

FRANZ AND EMPROR

Is there any monster unit that a potential Araby faction could use other than Djinns?

ogres

elephants
arabyans

Xth for vamps

Elephants mainly, but hey since Norsca got added all CA needs to do is contact GW for some concepts they worked on before. If the Fimir are added so can some cool shit be added to araby

>elephants

I mean they could make them a pseudo-haradhim faction. people would like that. (without getting Warner Bros' attention tho)

I dont think ogres will be here before the third game.

Off for me now I'm playing like shit

>gobbo archers
>Empire
uh

Come to think of it, I actually don't know anything of persian/arabic mythology aside from Djinns.

Anyone know anything about this?

Camel cav jews

>Goblin Archers

What are you doing user?

SCHEMES

Djinn are kind of varied tho, and didn't 1,001 nights mention a Roc?

>rolling with goblins

You deserve your loss.

A potential Arabyan roster.

Arabian Spearmen. (cheap anti-large)
Arabian Bowmen. (cheap skirmisher)
Arabian Guards. (heavy armor-armor piercing)
Corsairs (dual-wield anti-infantry)
Arabian Knights. (anti-large shock cavalry)
Arabian Desert Riders. (cavalry skirmisher)
Arabian Camel Riders. (cavalry anti-infantry)
Arabian Flying Carpets. (flying magic user)
Armored Elephants (melee monster)
Elephant Regiment (with bowmen on it) (skirmisher monster).
Camel Chariot
Arabian Magicians.
Arabian Commanders.

I don't know whether Djinns would be summoned by Magician a la Krell or they would be a unit on their own.

>ywn have a qt eastern euro waifu who supports your tw streaming and cooks you homemade food

I'm just glad he is streaming again. He is the only youtuber who I follow for MP games.

Who?

How would you all feel about a Kurgan Army in TWW3

>Karak Kadrin starts war with me
>immediately siege Kadrin with two armies
>send cavalry to raid and sack in the mountains
>Kadrin doesn't even make a peace offer with monies
>flood their city with the dead
Is Karak Kadrin the retarded cousin of the Dwarf family or what?

Turin

Thank you for making a proper bread op. That chorf one was shite

Man does this look boring. Not a dig at you or anything, I can't think of anything better either.

...

It could stop my fellow Turks from demanding a historical game constantly in the facebook page.

>a fugitive has arrived claiming to be the agent of a rival power blabla
>send him back or grant him asylum
>doesn't even fucking tell me which power he's from
seriously?

Slayer capital of the world. They live to die.

>No Suicide Bombers

Too bad they aren't fleshed out. Giant snake charmers kind of sound cool. As does scorpion riders and other deserty monster stuff. Maybe even a Roc (bird) or nagas.

Assassins maybe

Snake charmers might be possible after they made models and animations for the Sotek faction in the DLC

So I am doing a Vlad campaign. First time with the cunts. Do they start becoming fun when they get their elites or something? Or are they always a minimal effort army. I mean their whole strat seems to be to blob up and scare people. Plus their income is kind of meh.

I swear I heard that there were actual nagas lead by a queen all the way to the Hinterlands of Khuresh, but I don't recall where it was stated.

Vlad is literally the easiest LL in the campaign. it will not get fun, you will just get your achievements and play something else.

>CA misinterprets the text
>Araby DLC comes out
>Roc is a monstrous unit
>high armor
>60% ward save
>high weapon damage
>high melee defense
>unbreakable
>0 speed

vamp cunts are the easiest faction in the game, vlad makes it even easier

From what I remember, Arabyan wizards get their power from djinns which are bound chaos demons, because all the way down there the winds of magic are not as strong unless you're a priest. These djinn can be used as either fuel for your own spells, or you can let the djinn manifest itself and wreck shit like a monster. You could have both options as different units, with the option of a wizard releasing their djinn as an extra ability at the cost of losing their spells for the rest of the battle.

Also, Araby has jezzails, which can be used mounted on a camel.

Shit like this is why I can't stand SFO sometimes.

The point of Huntsmen is that they are dirt cheap, spammable archers with Vanguard deployment. There's no reason for them to have Stalk or Bonus vs Large.

It's pretty cool when you get the cav Vargheists and monsters. Early game is blob them with zombies, use bats to kill missile troops and use doggos for the flank.

Vamps basically have a tar pit for an anvil and the fun bit is the hammer. Their magic is pretty good too.

ITS A GIANT BIRD CA.

Can you theoretically buy DLC and have it integrate into your current campaign or do I have to start over? Let's say I started a Dwarf campaign and decided to buy the King and the Warlord DLC. Do I get the new units in my current campaign?

Yea they get carried away with the "EVERY UNIT HAS A PURPOSE" mentality that they forget sometimes the purpose of a unit is its affordable and fast to build.

It's also a beloved pet.

Nothing to do with mythology, but Arabs are traditionally very dedicated falcon tamers. It's a big sport to them even today. You can totally make something out of that.

>falcon riders
>infantry with falcons

I'm sure CA would jump at the opportunity to reskin Hawk Riders

you dont need to start over.

>tfw in age of mythology the Roc was just a flying transport unit that carried a tent in its talons

Thanks user!

The birds which drive the Helf Skycutters are Rocs of some kind, so they do exist within the Warhammer setting

Quick wikipedia search only brings up djinn for arabian myth, and persia is only marginally better with a variety of birbs and rhinos.

Are

>Amazons
>Greenskins
>Vampire Colony
>Norsca Colony

confirmed for TWW2 yet?

How do I get Vamp Cunt armies to start disintegrating?

Kill the general.

Same thing you would do to rout anyone else.

Take a light wizard for that anti-undead passive.

hammer and anvil a flank, tank morale and they'll crumble.
Ye olde general snipee.

From the map trailer they showed, it looks like

Not yet
Yes
Yes
I think so, they fucking better be

If there are multiple gens, will it make more of a difference if I kill the commander of the primary army, or wound the one of higher rank?

Should I buy Warhammer? I've never played a Total War game before. What faction is best for the begginers? How's multiplayer?

any wounded hero/lord tanks the morale of everyone around

>Should I buy
Yes.

>best faction
Empire. They're very flexible, letting you find your combat style, and they aren't in rape-city the first second you start off. Which many other factions kinda' are.

>multiplayer
I wouldn't know. It's alive, I know that much, but I never play it.

There were Norscan ships in the Lustria flyover.

I'm glad we're getting a real Norscan roster, I was thinking I couldn't escape chariot spam even on the other side of the planet

go ahead, honestly the best TW so far but histfags will try to tell you otherwise.
Be judge yourself, you can always refund.
For start i would go with Empire, they are really basic without any gimmicks

Warhammer was my first total war game (that I actually put time into) and I like it, but then again I'm a big fan of that setting. Empire's pretty vanilla. No idea how multiplayer is.

Do you like Warhammer or strategy games that put more emphasis on tactics in general? Then yes.
Empire.
It's an acquired taste.

What's the best faction UI theme and rename mod for Warhammer? After 500 hours the current names and UI are getting a tad stale.
Plus any Brettonia specific mods you can recommend?

>multiplayer
49% trolls and cheese
49% tryhard autists who run the same builds and abuse broken tactics w/ over 1500 hrs in the game
2% fun battles

>Take 3 steps outside of Temple City
>300 jungle chariots burst out of the trees

I'm actually not 100% sure. TW logic leads me to believe that the general for either army counts for either army.
If not that then the general of the first army.
There is no rank to generals beyond their RPG points. Which don't imply seniority anyway.

No Amazons glanced yet, and the campaign teaser has brushed over where they would be.
Greenskins have at least a couple of meme rogue armies around. And probably more.
Vampire Coast confirmed as unplayable regular vampire faction.
Skeggi is incredibly important in the lore, justifies a ton of rogue armies and shit that they otherwise couldn't put in the new world, and they literally just made norsca DLC.
Of course Skeggi is in.

If you want to.
Maybe pirate another TW game first to see if you like the gameplay. I'd say pirate Warhams for that but I'm not sure denuvo ever got broken for it.

Singleplayer: Stunties are easy mode of stand still with excellent missiles and infantry. Bretonnia is probably the best new player experience with a less boring army.
I wouldn't go Empire first game if you're new to TW in general, they have a lot going on.

For multiplayer: Vampires, Bretonnia and Empire. ie. the factions with the most cost effective units also possessing some form of healing magic.

Multiplayer is either co-op or pvp campaigns with only two people, I have no experience here.
Otherwise it's battles.
It's decent but nothing to write home about. Check out some videos of it. I'd recommend Turin. He doesn't shut up and is pretty normie, but he communicates what is going on well enough from a gameplay perspective.

I love Total Warhammer but it ain't no Shogun 2.

>jungle chariots
BEYOND

Why the fuck does a turn 15 rebel stack look like this? This is probably the strongest stack on the map and it gets pulled out of thin air.

Just because.
With the exception of the demis it's nothing special.

Demigrpyh Knights were a mistake
Why are they so damn easy to get?

Why didn't you improve the omens bro?

Fairly certain it's based on the level of the city they're mustering outside of.

>49% trolls
>Not 100%
This is outrage! Throgg will make right!

it won't really beat your stack if you are stationed in city

>Less cost-effective, less effective crypt horrors with only average movement on a faction with no answer against missiles or healing magic

>mfw Krell poster is dead
>mfw now is Throgg posting

Every faction that has trolls also has chariots and either flyers or artillery so not really sure where this "no answer to missiles" qualifies.

>Age of mythology.
>THE FUCKING FEELS
This game was so fucking good, been to long I didn't played it. Was my first strategy game.

Artillery doesn't synergize with melee rushstack, of which the theme being discussed consists of.

Flying units are very expensive and if your core is trolls, then you'll just keep your cav near your missiles to instagib any fliers that try to land.

>tfw total warhammer's gimped magic
>no son-of-osiris level of satisfaction for chain lightning.

I think in the lore they have some nasty desert creatures around that region. Not to say that it would make a whole lot of sense in their faction to use as military units, but if CA wanted to reach for whatever they could include then they could. Stuff like giant scorpions and lions.

I like Al'miraj.

Literally a race of Monty Python's bunnies.

>Tfw when this faggot Zeus player Lighting strike your son of osiris like the fucking mook he is.

Great memories are great.

Which faction is the best across any total war game?

Don't forget Dervishes!

>Artillery doesn't synergize with melee rushstack

It synergizes just fine if it's shooting at shit you otherwise can't get to.

It's slowly getting better. Vortexes can murder armies now. All they need now is caster lords giving much faster winds regen.

Like of all the games which within its own game has been the most powerful?
Or which has consistently been powerful across multiple versions of the three games with sequels.

Moors and Rome are the main standouts of Medieval and Rome games respectively.

Overall probably Rome 1's Parthians or Attila's Huns.

Isn't cost effective and they'll do a lot more damage towards your overpriced main line before your arty can hurt them near as bad.

Ireland: Total War, when?

By best I mean favorite not most overpowered. Out of every single faction in a total war game.

>moors
>not england

you already have Kingdoms expansion

Total war Saga will be in Ireland/ England during Viking invasion.

>Krellposter disintegrated as soon as he got what he wanted
Spooky.

Like longbows are hilarious and shit, but they take awhile to get to and it isn't like you can't wreck an equal amount of shit without them. Urban militia are truly crazy.

I'm not sure. Rome is gorgeous in RTW mods. Turks have a really neat roster in M2. Byzantines are superb in Stainless Steel.
Rhun and Gondor are top tier in Third Age.
And all that's just pre-warscape.

Probably played more Byzantines than anything else.
Right now I like the Greenskins the most. Because they're the perfect combination of standard medieval army with a fantasy twist.
Also almost uniquely amongst Warhammer factions you still have to care about morale.

They specified it was developed out of Rome, teased a classical era germanic bit of concept art. Ain't vikings.
