I think that's a small glithc in the AI in a sense...No idea really why carriers do that. proably part of old code being mixxed with new code or something.

If you want Nazis in space in Starsector then I would suggest making them an enemy faction, and present then in a entirely negative light.

Or, if they are not purely a assholeish pure enemy faction that everyone is hostile to? Make them Iron Sky style kind of incompetent and satirical.

Anything other than such styles I listed above, is likely to suffer the same fate Ahne did. For no one in their right mind wants fucking space Nazis that are portrayed in a positive or neutral manner.

Why is it the Simulator?

Because before, the ship would back off so far that without the fighter's vision, the enemy completely disappeared from the map. In actual combat, it stayed in a more reasonable range.
Maybe its because I didn't give it any buddies in the sim to hide behind, like carriers like doing in proper fights.

Clades from shadowyards seem pretty good

Their system is some super fast reverse that will always move them out of danger

Try playing the main menu missions and the tutorials. Also, officered ships can have more or less aggressive personalities than ones without officers

You can see what loadouts ships have by hovering over them in the fleet preview and pressing F1, though this is only after making contact. During combat, you can target a ship with R to see its loadouts, what its targeting, and some other stuff.

I tried fighting pirates (right next to hegemony station) and got my face torn off, tried taking a planet survey mission and got jumped by pirates in hyperspace before my engines had even started up (and then got my face torn off), tried trading and lost money

Most (Dyna ) mods ARE balanced around vanilla. The forum cucks just do terrible fucking tournaments and act like everything that doesn't die instantly the moment a vanilla ship looks at it is OP. Look at what happened to the Desinova of BRDY! A great ship turned into a great shit

Try to salvage some ships, spend your initial money on crew/weapons/fuel to fit it out

Then go do a derelict scan mission, or some low bounties if they are availible

0.8 base (0.72 with faction hull mod), with Defensive Systems and Hardened Shields you can bring it to 0.41. I'd be venting a lot more if it wasn't for Baryonic Shield, basically Fortress Shield with a cooldown.

I'd spend time to give the mod author balance feedback if I could.

I need help, i just started but i get obliterated almost every time i go into battle and i have to depend on my AI ships to win, i think i might have sub par weapons too but it don't know the diference between a good weapon and a bad one, i run a few simulations to see how do i go 1 on 1 with a ship like mine and i always lose becouse i always end up overheating with flux, i also can't into tactics so i just have the other ships follow me so i don't die right away

Luckily, there is an auto backup in the saves folder. Just delete the current saves and remove the .bak from the others in the folder

Kite shuttle and wayfarer- i started with those

that's literally what shields do, the tutorial tells you this
when your flux is getting high, back out of combat and hit V to vent
or just drop your shields when you're not taking hits

One thing is I would get the wolf and not the wayfarer. The Wayfarer is a freighter, not a combat ship. Also, try to avoid ships with D mods like fault power grid or degraded engines. Also, use your carriers but avoid getting piranhas as they can end up bombing your own ships

I just wanted to tell you that iam working on NGO 1.06 version. Cant tell when its done but i try my best, i will remove some text phrases and some other little stuff to please the moderators but the mod stays what it is, there is nothing illegal or offensive in there that i can tell. Well the next version will have 2 new ships, 1-3 new weapons and balance changes! If anybody has some opinions to balance then just send me a forum pm. Thanks and have fun.
