Most games are lost because half or more of the friendly( axis or allies) team dives on 2-4 enemies at 4000-9000 feet and relinquish most of their energy so they get shit on. And the remaining friendlies usually can't come back from a deficit like that.

It's simple, you work with your team. Stop climbing when you're the only one up there, even if the enemy has planes as high as you, you're not going to do anything against them if they're smart. Commit when an ally needs help or if they're setting up someone with their own attack. Break off as soon as you can and prepare to help again. Never expect allies to know how to do this, so never be the person who over commits and needs the help.
