Yes, because I frankly find it fucking hilarious how getting the "bad ending" results in Chara being saved while doing everything right results in Asriel still being stuck as Flowey. Neither had a soul. Both were trapped in some form of existential limbo. But the fucking edgy demon child gets a cookie and the kid who saves monsterkind gets a fucking kick to the flower buds.

Thematically the best Trophy arrangement is a single bronze trophy for completing genocide, a game full of dull grinding and frustratingly hard boss fights while you systematically do bad things to innocent characters deserves as small a reward as possible, assuming one is mandatory.

Yellow was an alright concept, but it looked like it fell into the trap of skeletonfaggotry from what I recall.

Maybe, but I doubt Toby has much choice in the matter. Probably writes the trophy names and that's about it. There's likely a system in determining their rarity.

Honestly the idea of a game like Undertale having a trophy system is already hilarious. Toby didn't have a choice then, and I doubt he has much of one now.

Codification of design practices rather than a mandated policy. And some are pretty different.

But they all have certain achievements for completing the same exact or equivalent in-game action.

So they follow the previously established norms. I don't think a game will be refused certification because you don't get a trophy for finishing hard mode. As long as it is physically possible to unlock the trophy and the name doesn't violate Sony Standards, I think they could be about anything.

And there are different arrangements. Ubisoft games are like 40 Bronze, 10 Silver and 1 Gold, while remaster games have maybe 20 trophies total but a lot of them are silver and Gold.

a lot of trophies are created partly as a way to monitor the playerbase's progress through the game itself, that's how devs figured out that only like 20% of gamers actually finish most of the games they buy

that aside it's probably mostly just laziness

Regardless, Undertale likely won't have that many trophies. The hardest one, if it's included, will probably be unlocking the door to the Annoying Dog's room

Some, but a lot of the art is hard to tell whether it's really Souless Pacifist, or just 'whatever let's have Chara fuck around with Flowey'
