This really was the worst part of P5.

The game builds up how dangerous Shinjuku is for a long time. You have your whole team tell you to be extra careful, you make sure not to wear your student uniform, you go with Ryuji to make sure you're safe, etc. Then once you're there you see various shady and threatening men on your way to meet with Ohya.

Then Ryuji gets chased of by some guys and Morgana says AW SHUCKS and you both go home.

It's completely fucking idiotic and tone-deaf, for fuck's sake, the writers took so much time to drill it into your skull that Shinjuku is dangerous, and if you don't stick with your buddy, bad shit will happen. Then that exact scenario happens and we're supposed to just laugh it off.

I really don't know what they were thinking. That's the most novice of writing mistakes. Were there any new names added to the writing staff for P5? This whole thing reeks of amateurism.

If you want to write about Joker and Makoto talking over coffee and holding hands, write it. If you want to write about Ryuji fucking Goro in multiple holes, write that. Femdom, femsub, abuse, diapers, hand holding, write what you find interesting and what you know you can follow through on.

Let the readers come to you, don't try to appeal to whatever seems popular at the moment. There's nothing worse than a good fluff writer who tries to write smut and fails, ruining a great fic because they wanted to appeal to the faggots demanding sex. Or vice versa, plenty of good porn gets ruined by shitty plot tumors. If you write smut, you'll find readers who like smut, if you write cute fluff, you'll find readers who like that, if you write an AU gay romance guro fic, you'll find readers who are into that.

Find an idea you like, and force yourself to follow through on it.
