Could I get some help identifying this bike? It’s a Kawasaki, has a single carb feeding two cylinders, and the shifter/rear brake levers are switched. It’s supposed to look like some German bike or something, but the opposite side of the engine says Kawasaki.

I'm really falling in love with the Daytona 675, but it might be too aggressive coming off the CB400. So fucking sexy though. Maybe the Street Triple would be more my speed, but I don't like its aesthetic as much.

Most powerful production engine at the moment goes to Harley.
Honda and Yamaha have always done really well. Kawasaki and suzuki are like the 2nd tier group although kawi did win WSB and suzuki had a good run in the early on with the GSXR and then a bit later with the SV650.
Yamaha seems to be the most forward looking of the group, with suzuki on the opposite end having not updated most of their models in the last 20 years except the vstrom, the sv650, and the new gsxr, and maybe the gsxs.

Here's mine If you want it go for, for a 600 supersport the Daytona can be pretty calm, there's enough torx at low revs that you don't have to wring it's neck to get anywhere, it's pretty comfy and rideable unless you do start wringing it's neck. I also can't recommend it enough, there's a reason it's pretty consistently rated the best 600.
As for what I want next I dunno, I'm pretty happy with the Daytona for another couple of years at least, but I think i'll want to replace it once I start hitting 30 or 40k miles, probably something Italian and ~1000CC like an RSV4, 1198 or Tuono.
But I do, and my wife doesn’t look like a goblin either.

It's not meant to out perform a wannab trackbike that sucks on an actual track and is uncomfy on the road.
But the 650 standard actually does well on the track while you act like you have a nice bike.
Nothing major, broke the automatic cam chain tensioner a few months ago, but those seem to break on everything and it's an easy fix. I guess the RR has problems on the early ones (like mine) but the PO brought it in for the recall work and I haven't had a problem.
As far as the British reliability meme it really doesn't apply, Hinckley Triumph is not old Triumph or BSA.
