You gotta time the peek by using momentum.
Standing normally, strafe a corner, and just before you clear the corner you scope and crouch, it's like a smooth diagonally down movement if executed correctly.

You end up peeking very quickly and being at 100% accuracy without having to counter strafe. If you miss though...
Only crouch peek if you're clearing one angle. A flick can take out a single dude if you don't have cerebral palsy aim, but if you get peppered by bullets being crouched means you're dead, because there's some bullshit movement debuff that works against you, and it's even slower than when you normally get shot (I think uncrouching counts as vertical movement like a jump)
