The cars are too niche and too similar that it doesnt make sense to sell both everywhere. Hyundai pulled the original Veloster out of the European market only a few years after releasing it due to poor sales, but as was said, the Veloster has relative success here in the States.

The only problem I see is the MSRP. A fully-loaded Veloster Turbo already stickered for close to $30k. Nobody ever paid this, but still, the souped-up "N" one is gonna have a ridiculous sticker price to start with.

Original Veloster was intended to only be a more stylish Hyundai Accent. It was the automotive fake news and Hyundai fans themselves that expected it to be a Tiburon replacement. But Hyundai listened and now they've engineered the new car to be the sportiest thing they've ever made. It is gonna be good. The i30 N is getting too many glowing reviews for it to not be.
