RWD is a meme

>muh understeer
tunable by suspension etc, see FoST
>muh torque steer
LSDs and other mitigations exist
>muh burnouts
too insecure in your manhood to like FWD burnouts?

If it's a meme... Why are the fastest accelerating and best handling cars on the planet RWD?

youtube.com/watch?v=tqlf4Y4zrV0

You just made the perfect case for why FWD is a meme, all of the problems have to be fixed with thousands of dollars when a RWD comes from the factory perfect.

Name a car with more than 350hp stock that's fwd and good. Go ahead, I'll wait.

>My car needs every kind of hack and firmware update to function like a basic bitch 20 year old rwd sports coupe
/g/ really needs to stick to their autism chamber

That was an intentional engine destruction.

...

>Civic Type-R and SI btfo favorite 80s RWD shitboxes
>b-but muh RWD is superior

>The fastest examples of modern FWD are faster than decades old shitboxes
It's almost like cars are faster now than they were 30 years ago

Literally the only argument FWD fans have is "oh, it's not THAT bad" or "it can be fixed with x". There's not a single actual advantage to FWD for performance driving, that's why it's a meme.

name 1 single advantage RWD has over FWD
ill wait

weight distribution

i said advantage

Improved traction during acceleration

thats FWD

>FWD is useless past 300hp due to torque steer etc
>FWD is nose heavy
>FWD has poor weight distribution
>it makes no sense to have the front wheels do both the turning and power

literally one of the only few advantages FWD has over RWD is more interior space due to no transmission tunnel. most vehicles are FWD or transverse 4WD now because its cheaper and easier to manufacture and they can drop the chassis over the drivetrain on assembly. cars were RWD for decades for a reason

i was a technician for a decade and drove probably 2000+ models of vehicles, the only FWD car i drove that i can genuinely say i enjoyed was a 3rd gen Honda Prelude

less drivetrain losses

wait, i cant read.

>>FWD is useless past 300hp due to torque steer etc
post one single fact
>>FWD is nose heavy
not a disadvantage
>>FWD has poor weight distribution
not a disadvantage
>>it makes no sense to have the front wheels do both the turning and power
>i dont like it therefore it makes no sense

It's not, when a car accelerates the weight transfers to the rear.

lol fact being nearly every drag car is RWD? and poor weight distribution is very well a drawback

i dont like it therefore it makes no sense is this entire thread, its plain fact that RWD has better weight distribution and is better for performance but alot of vehicles in the last 30 years went to FWD because its simpler to manufacture

the longer the wheelbase of a given vehicle, the less advantageous FWD becomes.

>driftlets butthurt their platform is dying

Fastest fwd car is like a minute slower than the fastest rwd car on the Ring

>posts the weakest bait in the world
>people respond with subaverage answers
>nerve
We did it reddit!

Could you remind me of the price difference between the two?

If fwd was so good car companies would be using fwd instead of rwd for setting Ring records.

That car was badass too. 520 hp in a hatch. I can't say it's much of a surprise that he won. But def a win for fwd

>>muh understeer
>tunable by suspension etc, see *car that understeers*

fwd can oversteer, but it can't then control that oversteer with throttle like a rwd car can
on the other hand, rwd cars also can't throw in in quite the same way fwd cars can
every single thing about a car's balance, drivetrain and suspension setup changes how it drives ignoring that on either side o the debate makes you a faggot

What about recreational hooning such as drifting?

>rwd is for cucks
have you driven one without traction control?
