It's not, Braum still takes status effects and shit from stuff he blocks. He takes an Ashe arrow, he gets stunned. He intercepts a 1hko ultimate, he dies. The only surprising part to me is that the chains count as a projectile at all.

That's how it works. Braum becomes the sole target of any projectile that passes through him, and Urgot's execute is a fucking projectile.
Yes this means a 5% health Yasuo could windwall even after being impaled and save himself, as long as his wall lasts more than 3 seconds

The chains should only affect those under the kill threshold and thats it. Thats what i'm getting at. The chains execute someone based on their HP, so if the HP doesn't align with the correct execute alignment then why the fuck is he getting killed? The chains should instead fizzle out.

That's not how it works though. As noted in previous posts, even if the original target is healed or shielded while the chains are on the way to him, they will still kill the target since it's the second cast.

But Braum was NOT the original target, meaning the shift of HP or being shielded argument doesn't apply. The chains hit a target that was above the kill threshold and still executed him, because of, literally no other reason, than riot thought it was cool.

I applies on hit effects at 1/3 effectiveness for each shot, because he attacks 3 times quicker.

I main Braum support and even I don't know what the fuck you mean. He is super reliable and easy to pick up. His shield has very little down sides and nothing about him feels overly clunky.
What QoL do you need? The urgot thing isn't even a big deal, just block the first cast and everything is fine.
