It's a thing because on one point of the game pure damage did matter, so DE implemented Bane mods which were "best in slot" mods for pure damage against specific factions.

Now pure damage no longer works, but DE don't play their game so they don't know that.

2) you must be in warframe mode when it grants you the kuva after the final braid's destruction

Chances are pretty high you were too slow reverting from tater-mode
