I'd like to think the latter, but I don't know. People always shit on the engine so it must be for a reason. The other two Unity games I've played lately were Yooka-Laylee and Syberia 3, which both had the same problems. They wouldn't exactly be good games either way, though.

I just didn't expect this out of a 2D Metroidvania, one that doesn't even look that gorgeous now that I'm playing the full game. Rayman Origins/Legends and Odin Sphere look much better.
