the setplay/mixup characters like Yun/Seth/Cammy/Akuma had 50/50s, while the entire cast of SFV has 50/50s built into their gameplay because of the lack of defensive options. Also the risk/reward is heavily in favor of the offensive player in SFV in terms of 50/50s. in SF4 I could uppercut and not have to worry about eating a 60% punish if I managed to guess wrong. in SFV I can't even DP unless i have meter

I think it is because it's too basic and require very setting up but also reward significantly higher reward since damage and stun is so high in sfv

Every character with a dash needs to learn to microdash effectively in ASW games because it will give you a forward momentum to your button and sometimes you want that.
I'd say go back to Naoto when you grasp the basics and you'll be surprised how overblown his difficulty it.

why does asw still use archaic mechanics like mash to tech/stagger/non button dashes?

imagine how easy Ram/Naoto would be to play if you had a macro for micro dashes

Problem is when you have to do multiple microdashes for a basic 3k combo

Naoto is just impossible to properly netplay, for instance.

A friend of mine does them fine in online matches, we have a very low ping between us though.
Being able to buffer dashes in BB helps a lot.
