The problem is Japanese doesn't differentiate between L and R. SO it can be read as a-lu-to-li-a or some retard combo like that.
Add the fact that their phonetics all have a vowel attached to every consonant and you have a huge mess. Both Altria and Arturia are technically correct. But Arturia is closer to Arthur so yeah. I assume it was a localization fuckup that was too much of a hassle to fix so they made it official.
