People saying discard won't see play is the same people saying purify was the worst thing ever. Times have changed, discard currently has the best card generation in the game(malchezaar imp), the cheapest high damage spells in the game(soulfire), one of the best taunts in the game(lakkari heckhound), the best charger in the game(doomguard), a totem golem without the overload(succubus), free potential 3/3 on turn 1(silverware golem), literally infinite minions(lakkari sacrifice), better 3 mana rogue dude(clutchmother), insane sticky minions(cruel dinosaur) and insane yolo boardclear(deathwing). Only thing they were missing was health so they could abuse their op hero power and survive until the big boys get out, and guess what? They got one of the strongest heals in the game now: Lana'tell. This card could basically keep you alive forever, one could say it gives you infinite health, assuming you can keep it alive. Warlock may've been a joke for quite some time now, but they're about to be a force to be reckoned with...

They did this to allow card complexity levels to rise at a faster rate. We've seen some cool new card concepts, Defile being one of them. Dreadsteed's pseudo-infinity is and has been an obstacle for Team 5 since Naxxramas when they were going to make it a card but didn't because of Warsong Commander.

You say there is another way around it, making hidden rules for Dreadsteed for the cards Team 5 wants to make, allowing them to coexist. They have confirmed to be doing this for Grim Patron, and most likely Cruel Dinomancer and any other card combo that could break Defile. But there's a difference between Dreadsteed and these cards. Dreadsteed will break it 24/7. The other cards have to be set up and are much harder to break the card, requiring a really awkward change to the card if they chose the same path to fix them as Dreadsteed. Hidden rules aren't healthy for the game, but getting to see them in a game with Defile and Grim Patron or Cruel Dinomancer is a lot less likely than Defile and Dreadsteed because the latter requires 0 setup and can be done by playing the two cards from your hand.

I'm sorry if you like the card, but they aren't nerfing it into oblivion. The main function of the card is still there. You just can't buff it, and depending on how Blizzard's spaghetti code works out, you might even be able to keep the Spiritsinger Umbra combo. This change will allow for even more unique card designs to be put into the game in future sets.

That's all, had to get this semi-rant out seeing all the recent outcry on the forums recently.

there is actually no way they can't realize how awful they are. Removing all of a certain cost of card from your deck is a big cost and the effects given are stuff maybe a rare or common minion would have. even the +1/+1 to everything in your deck is outclassed by a legendary who already did the same thing.

I'm actually excited to try out some Concede Shaman builds right after I craft all the Hunter cards to see if he's good or not yet

I tend to agree. Dreadsteed's effect practically ruined the one brawl where taunts were on one side and charge was on the other. All I did that brawl was make specific hate decks with different ways to counter it. People bitch and moan about consistency, then suddenly want to throw consistency out the window when blizzard tries to make a decision to improve it? Most folks complaining have never tried to make anything, and don't actually understand how difficult it is. Just whiners who expect to be handed precisely what they want when they don't even know what they want besides something "good."

I trust Team 5. They created an amazing game and there is no reason to think that they wouldn't make the best decisions for it.

Finja has stealth and pulls cards out of your deck and plays them for free. The only 5 mana card pirate warrior plays is that thing that immediately deals 5 damage. Does this do that? No. Into the trash it goes.

I've been playing with Finnja for about a month now, literally think I've had his effect trigger twice, maybe thrice in that period of time.

Finja at least does something. Finja has stealth after all.

30 cards are not enough for a good mixed deck. Either pure murloc or pure pirate will always be better. Especially when half of the synergy depends on a 3 health 5 drop.
