post boipussi

I have some questions:
Recommend me something cheap/practical to travel around NYC? Doesn't have to hit 140mph or be comfortable for 12 hour rides.

How the fuck do I gear up for winter riding holy shit

Y'all niggas gay.

Heated gear from Gerbings or Gears Canada

suzuki tu520

an overall designed for winter motorcycle riding and heated grips or heated gloves.

Post bikes

electric motorcycles and electric conversions
thoughts? hate?

jesus do a wheelie

The tech needs to evolve more tbqh.

Honda, Suzuki, and Bajaj make sub-300's specifically to putt around urban dystopia. Take your pick by budget.
Layer up. Wool, glove liners, under-shells (thermal or synthetic), scarves that can be wrapped, real boots, and waterproofing on everything.

too expensive for the performance they offer.

...

...

I would maintain that weight to wattage is still the number one limiting factor.
The fuss over drag is more based on the popularity of naked/conventional cruisers.
Purpose built fairings. Aren't fucking difficult, yo.

Why do sportbikes even come with bitch seats?

b cuz all tha pucci u be getting

for bitches.

Why does my country limit me to 125s. Its such an awful, niche market for 17/18 year olds and its impossible to find a nice bike that hasn't been crashed 34 times by 16 different owners.

Fuck I just want a real bike

because your country is ran by a bunch of sheep fucking, dingo cucking, get-beat-by-emu decedents of convicts that have lost all semblance of testicular fortitude that has resulted in no-fun laws across the board.

Because your country is retarded.
limiting people to 125cc scooters for a first bike is just fucking dangerous, you should at least have something like the LAMS setup Australia has.

No you got it all wrong, my country is RESPONSIBLE for that cesspool prison island
Only upside is I can use my 125 to pick up cigarettes, whisky and cheap escorts the day I turned 18.

>move to burgerland
>buy and ride whatever you want

Just imagine it euronon...any bike you want, on the road just as soon as the finance guy smiles at you...

That naked "YZF" looks damn ugly but I know full well its a comfortable ride.

So there is no upside?
the prison colony can drink at 18 too and they can legally ride a cr500 on the street as a learner.

LAMS is good, but three years is too long. I can't even legally use an aftermarket slip on.

n-no I'm happy here I like 125s least plastic fairings can't rust and its not like speed limits go above 60mph anyway

Having done lams and getting fucked over harder than you ever could because i had to do the old license then 3 years after that, really the lams bikes are enough unless you want to be doing highway pulls and even then most of them do 180-200km/h and will get there faster than 95% of cars on the road.

Only real reason for it to be shorter that is not a hoon reason is re sale value of bikes but me and you both know they want you to keep that lams bike after you get your full license, they don't want you to ever have a litre peter.

I don't know what everyone's issue is with 125s.
I wish they sold any good 125s in the US. I'd love to have a small town bike

Get a scooter. Faggot

125cc 4 strokes are for 12 year old kids that didn't get to ride a real bike before that age.

Except the good 125s aren't even sold here either unless you live up north where all the Gypsies take their stolen bikes and sell them on

...

Nah
I started on a pw50 and have ridden every kind of bike from here to there. A 125 would be fun.
Bummer

big bikes can highway cruise at a low rpm, and are just a downshift away from getting on the power band .

highway cruising on a 250cc gets tiring. being at WOT to keep it going 70 mph.

...

wtf 954 user?

lams bikes like the cb400sf are sitting at about 7000rpm at highway speed and rev up to 13,000rpm, you are already at the start of the power band on the highway.

yes though 250's are useless.

???

we streetfighter now?

...

That ktm headlight still triggers me.

I like it, and it deff looks better than the autism headlight that used to be on it.

can you even see anything with it?
i have the same headlight on my ktm they are fucking useless lol
like sure it is nice to have it there but you are literally better off taping a torch yo your handlebars for actually riding at night

superbrightheadlight.png is about to be posted I bet

I'm mostly happy with the power from the 400, but I just want to ba able to use a slip on. Not being about to carry a pillion is a pain too.

I just rode it like that for a couple miles because I was dying to ride and wanted to make sure everything still worked. It is going back together now.

>YZF
Why are you looking at a motocross bike?

yzf125 is not a motocross bike.

Its like looking into the sun for oncoming traffic but at least i can see so that what counts
I know you love it

what globes do you have in it?

I can only park my bike in my drive outside my house under a cover with a disc lock and 45lbs chain and standard steering lock. The drive is around the corner and most people won't see it, but its definitely not hidden.

What's the most I can pay for a bike before the gypsies try and steal it.

€-10000000000

Oh sorry, I didn't realize you were looking at poo in loo bikes.

I hate Gypsies soooooooo much

Globes?
As long as you have insurance who cares

What's the harm in buying a used helmet if it's been used very little? You can almost always take off internal paddings to check for damaged interiors, and simple visual checks can verify the condition of the outside. Could get a Shoei RF 1200 at an asking price of $250, and an Arai RX7 Corsair at an asking price of $150 from some local sellers.

This thing is sexy

>Brown and red
If I wanted to see that combination, I'd just have to look in my toilet.

What's happened to me? I used to love naked bikes and now they look dirty and foul to me. Like they're lesser bikes.

ur sexy

youre a hipster, now that there main stream and every manufacturer sells them you hate them

I'm no photographer.

i was considering them because a torquey vtwin+shaft drive is bliss, but also understood that a a machine from 1996-1997 is going to be far from the reliable daily commuter you need it to be.
Don't trust different anecdotal cases from /dbt/ and other various biased forums.

don't forget about the date of manufacture. if it was hardly used, but sitting in a closet for 5 years, then the foam inside might just be compromised from natural deterioration

20 years old really isn't that bad. it can be plenty reliable, especially if it hasn't been abused all its life

I've considered that too. The Shoei in question was supposedly only worn "a hand full of times" and "gathered dust for 8 months", so it's likely only been owned for about a year (from a 'new' state). There's a (somewhat dorky) Shoei RF 1100 + Scala G9X for $150 asking from another seller as well, but I question the manufacturing date considering the version and price. No idea about the RX-7, but it could potentially be the same.

For me it's Harley
Change my mind

Not much mind to change there....

I don't know what to tell you user. I like standard bikes but have found the last few years of "naked" bikes to be annoying. I always feel like too many of the parts you can see are stylized instead of looking like actual parts. Instead of looking clean they look overworked.

Slow piece of shit… I can smoke the fuck out of this with my 2005 Drz400SM with a couple of simple mods
Full Yoshimura Rs2 with carbon tip
440cc Athena Big Bore Cylinder Kit

Ported and polished head with titanium springs and retainers
41mm Keihin Carb
3x3 Airbox mod
Manual Cam Chain Tensioner
NGK Iridium sparkplug
Thumpertalk Case Savers
Racetech fork springs and valves
Öhlins SU506 rear shock
Tail tidy with flush mounted LED turn signals
Trailtech Vapour display unit

Clarke 3.9 Gallon Tank
Marchesini M10RR wheels with Pirelli Supercorsas

I’m making 58 horsepower to the REAR WHEEL because that’s the only place power should ever be

memes aside is it actually 58bhp? because that would be like a record for a drz400

I have no trouble doing 70mph on my 250, you must just be fat.

i want to buy this, i want a project and if what the guy is telling me is right the only thing that it needs is a carb rebuild/ possibly replace the clutch master cylinder, possible rebuild slave/ and rebuild the forks because the have a small leak over time... i just dont know if its a good
idea if i can get it for 600.

houston.craigslist.org/mcy/d/1983-honda-magna-vf750c/6431654574.html

That's a pretty good summation, actually. Every part of a modern standard screams of a sportbike scaled back to street usability, instead of a bike designed...as a bike.

If you want to know the bike like nobody else, yes.

But if you are speaking monetarily? It's probably not. Any amount of professional work will break the budget, compared to buying a working one. And working from home may not be much better.

Price an outright replacement of all the problem parts, so you have a worst case scenario.

I hate all you fags, i hope you fags get raped by tyrones and die of aids.

Motorcycle for relevance.

not as reliable as a cheap 250-500cc newer bike. A learners bike is just that - a learners bike.
Why compromise the satisfactoin of owning your first motorcycle by purchasing a less reliable and safe machine?

So what do you all use for spare fuel stowage? I've been thinking about getting a 30oz/1L MSR bottle for my saddle bag but that only works out to 10-12 more miles on the road if I need it. Not sure if it would be worth the trouble.

Thoughts?

CJ's sister?

>30oz/1L
Not a liter, also its just a tin water bottle, youre better off with a fuel bladder.

I have the Reda innovations gas can and I like it a lot
advertised capacity is 1 gallon / 3.75 liter but it's more like 0.8 gallon / 3 liter

it's small enough that I could fit it in a tank bag
Tbhq it's good to have but i've only used it once because i'm usually not a moron about stopping for gas
also igdaf if the freedom to metric conversion i posted is incorrect
