Is tire shine bad?

Is tire shine bad?

oooooo that looks good.

the silicone ones are bad as they pick up dirt like a mother fucker. use waterbased ones and your good

Are you kidding? That’s way too glossy, it’s nigger tier shit

Yeah it’s good if it’s subtle and just makes the tire look new not fucking glossy like a children’s toy. Black magic tire gel is fine.

OP here mainly asking becuase people at work are telling me it's bad for the tire and will fuck it up/sun will cry them faster

>Are you kidding? That’s way too glossy, it’s nigger tier shit

someone has no taste

it wont if you use waterbased. silicone will fuck them up

Rotating your tires is pretty shitty when people do that. You end up smearing the shit on the rims and have to clean it off.

I use Australian export tyre shine

is this bad for my tyres.

they say on the can

"propellant: hydrocarbon"

is that what it's made of? is that the water or silicone based one?

The propellant is the shit that makes the tyre shine come out of the can.

It's in all spray cans, whether it's oil or paint or tyre shine.

Use leather conditioners / the one for interior cleaning/seats/shoes.

this is the stuff. doesn't seem to have a list of ingredients on the back

It's not food so it's not required to list its ingredients.

It's silicone based.

The hydrocarbon is the air in it that forces out the contents.

I think tire shine is bad in most cases but the tire dressing stuff that just keeps them black is fine and I use that because living where I live my tires love to get brown and ugly

Yeah. Its you

fuck, how do I take it off and how badly am I fucking up my pilot sport 4s with them?

I spray some on every wash, say every 2 to 3 weeks since I got them changed in July

What type of black magic?

>shiny tyres
For what purpose?

I used to live next door to a guy who would paint his tyres with black gloss. Actual paint, like for fences and pipes and shit.
I could never figure that out either.

From o’reilly’s

I don't like the look of it. Always looks like someone's trying to hard to overcompensate for old, worn tires. Every time I've gone to a small dealership to look at a used car that had shiny tires they almost always had a recently detailed engine compartment with way too much juicy shit rubbed all over everything, too. It sets off my bullshit detectors, and I always find something wrong with it. There's the new look, the clean and maintained look, and the I'm not fooling anybody with my greasy tires look.

It is bad fur your tires. The base ingredient is not the problem it's the propellant which lie other user stated is usually hydrocarbon based. Ex propane, butane

The propellants will cause early sidewall cracking. In some cases I've seen a perfectly good set of continental procontacts develop cracks after only 3 years. The tires had more than 8/32" of tread and the car was stored in a garage when not in use but required replacing when the customer turned in the lease.

I have no idea how to remove it except normal washes but even the only preventative measure is to not use it.

shit, this guy here. how much damage have I done

if I stop using it now should I be ok?

next time I wash it off should I be getting a brush and car detergent and give them a good scrubbing off?

>propellants
What about non-spray type tire gel? No petroleum propellants there.

i use this it's good

its oil based.
anything that usually says hydrocarbons is oil based or solvent based.

oh goddamn it man does the tyre look bad i.e. very soft rubber or cracks appearing, just use degreaser on them and then hose off then you'll be fine, prolonged exposure to oil based products can cause some rubber products to swell and go soft, otherwise you should be ok.

just clean tyres with detergent it will clean all the dirt off and will sort of make it look beter, i use detergent and never have any cracks or shit appear.

No one's really mentioned water-based tire gel.
Shit doesn't get nasty in the summer and sling everywhere.

This is what I’m talking about, tire gel is good shit

>not doing all it takes

My brother crashed my beautiful supercharged Tacoma when he couldn't stop going at 70mph because he managed to lock the tyres

I later discovered he put that thing all over the tyres like the nigger he is
