what the fuck are you doing?

buying a good, reliable japanese luxury sedan regardless of powertrain???

should I buy a 330i instead?

>good
>auto and fwd

>luxury sedan
>4 banger fwd

here's a much better car.

tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/d/2006-acura-tl-6-spd-manual/6442866912.html

The price difference doe.

what are you, poor?

What do you think?

i think the 2004s still suffered from the bad transmissions, should probably avoid

That one looks decent but I don't know what issues the earlier ones are prone to. My 2010 TSX was great and that one looks well optioned all the same. It's a Honda so??? Reliability shouldn't be too much of an issue methinks.

If you're poor why the fuck would you buy a car that already needs 1500 bucks worth of work immediately after purchase?

newyork.craigslist.org/stn/cto/d/2003-mitsubishi-eclipse-spyder/6419209153.html

Cop or not

>shitsubishi
>wet noodle vert
shiggy diggy. just get a civic for 3k.

If you're shopping for a $2000 car, don't get aspirational.

>Speedometer goes to 160
Okay so? Why even add that? Do they think that means that car goes 160mph?

What if I just do the work myself? Is an A/C compressor and window regulator that expensive?

Avoid mid 2000s honda/acura v6 auto transmissions like the plague. They blow up

A/C is not for the DIY. I paid 800 bucks for a non-oem compressor in my 2001 civic. You might could do the windows depending on what the problem is. Or you could be smart and buy a car with no problems.

Ok, maybe the TSX isn't such a hot idea.

What about this liftback '06 Mazda6?

miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto/d/2006-mazda-6-4-cylinders/6443197151.html

>salvage title
that's an even worse choice.

What year did they git gud at?

boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/d/1997-lexus-sc400-coupe/6416971747.html

Thoughts? I just want a reliable daily that's RWD and semi-fun.

tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/d/1997-honda-accord/6439404760.html

is this a good deal? looking for a shitbox to learn how to drive stick on

If you're OK with the AC being forever dead, ok.

99-04 were the problem years iirc so 05+

some issue with the torque converter? or something like that. would be fine one day and just shit to bed the next.

Refilling freon is easy, even a porch monkey can refill it.

Talk me out of it

>There is a check engine light which indicates the Mass Air Flow sensor needs to be changed and this is notated by an intermittent rough idle upon start but goes away within a few seconds.

This is going to put you in bankruptcy brother.

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/1995-bmw-325-convertible/6408468689.html
Is this a good price

So many floridabros

I could find a maf for like 100 bucks

It's from Lakeland.

Lakeland is full of weirdos

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/2004-porsche-cayenne/6430390202.html

Should I regret considering this?

Kek you think refilling it will do anything? I guarantee the AC system in that thing has so much sealant in it already. Putting anything else in there is worthless. It needs a flush, which probably won't work so that means new lines, probably a new compressor, too.

its running and you've got a CEL and some other warning lights. Unless you've got double the asking price tucked away for purchase and repairs, look at something else.

also " $3,000 as is call if interested but please don't waste my time I wasted a lot more on this vehicle" should be an indicator you'll have to sink money into repairing it.

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/2004-subaru-forester-25x-awd/6406203089.html

How about this one?

atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/cto/d/2004-mercury-grand-marquis/6425312645.html
I'm thinking I can get it for $1900 if I do my thing. This a good buy?

I contacted this dick and he says he's VERY firm on his asking price

portland.craigslist.org/wsc/cto/d/2001-toyota-celica-gt-6-speed/6442341167.html

This seems to good to be true, but the dude is right in my area, and asked if I wanted to see it. What should I be wary of with these?

Too good to be true would be $2,000 and lower.

That's just the standard price.

washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/cto/d/2002-subaru-wrx/6438675747.htm

Y/N?

>no motor
Yeah he's just being a lazy cunt to not part the rest of it. There are much better platforms out there for less.

Thoughts?

miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/d/nissan-350z-03/6418172703.html

Plz respond.

Go for it. They are fun, reliable, with a huge community to help you through DIY shit.

if its the K20 its bulletproof, the interior is easy fix with leather dye
autotragic but i mean since you are from america its what you get
the paint is an expensive fix tho, anyway for a beater seems good if its mechanically sound

Thanks man! I think I will!

hold out for a 535, or 540

miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto/d/subaru-svx/6394897319.html

Should I buy this as my first car?

FUCK dude I really want one of these.

Why doesn't CL do anything about these shitty dealerships posting ads in for sale by owner?

sd.craigslist.org/cto/d/2008-ford-crown-victoria/6423378305.html

535 maybe, 540 nyet. M60 maintenance is megacostly. M50s fix themselves over time and are almost undeadable (minus vanos, booh vanos). M30s are bulletproof but older than everyone on this board together times 10.

Owned e34s with all of the possible drivetrain/engine combos. 530/540 is by far the most expensive to live with. Something is /always/ broken. 520/525 with m50s are ultra durable, never failed me once. 535 is neat but offer 0 advantages over the far more modern 525. HP diff is minimal, power curve more ideal in M50s and fuel consumption in real life about 30% lower in a 525. 525s are great.

Never get any of these cars with autos, you will be disapointed

Ofc, stay away from ‘88-90s with m20 engines. These are model toy engines meant for E30s and similar atrocities. No idea if America got them but the 525iX is the worlds finest driving machine and you shoild definetly buy one if presented the opportunity. The 540i/6 is overpriced, get a 540iA and swap the case for a 6-speed from a E46 330D (with the correct adapter ofc). 530 is pointless.

Only viable upgrade to an E34 is the E38. Nothibg else will satisfy both mind and eyes

>tfw my oc

God machine.

Too good to be true at that price, and it's auto so eugh.

Someone please give an informed opinion

I want this but at the same time I don't
boston.craigslist.org/bmw/cto/d/1983-chevy-citation-x11/6415922175.html

Honestly looks comfy.

Fellow Floridanon here, but I found this listing out in texas

>never seen a 987 boxster with this few miles on it
>yes, it is auto which is a minus but I'm perfectly fine with that for a daily
>also blacked out, which was my desired colour combination
>only 81k miles
>less than 10 grand so I can literally buy in cash
>have family in houston so I wouldn't need to even get a hotel

should I cop?

Ask where it was stored during Harvey.

Too good to be true?

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/cadillac-escalade/6412548997.html

Before you ask, no I'm not black, and the tints are easy to remove I'm assuming.

I just want that sweet Vortec reliability.

mankato.craigslist.org/cto/d/2006-ford-fusion-4-cyl-5/6440369874.html
Went looking for an affordable manual that wasn't riced or rusted and found this.
Price is spot on book value for mileage (which is high, but it only needs to last me about a year) but I bet I can haggle it down a bit.
What does Veeky Forums think?

You do realise it has some form of paint splatter on it, right?

Too many miles, trans is gonna cost a bit. Try to find out who installed the alarm and did the other work. Since it's Boca, ask about flood damage. It may have gotten water in it.

If you can live with the dirty seats then go for a test drive. Only way to know for sure if you'll like it. Looks like a decent ride

Looks like a decent project and a comfy 80's car but I'll warn you that most of those old cars were only good for about 100k miles before needing a big refresh. I'd say go for it if you're willing to work on it.

Most of the time I'm happy if my car has all original doors. Now I just gotta hope it doesn't sell until I've got time to get over and test drive it (I'm currently in Eastern SoDak).

My God, I haven't seen a Citation in ages.

Or just for posterity, that actually might be the last running Citation.

That might also be true lmao. Didn't they have lots of suspension issues?

Not Craigslist, but:

das hub.com/search/WyJkaGxpdmUjMSIsInllYXJyYW5nZSMxOTkwIC0gMTk5NCIsInNlYXJjaG5hbWUjU1VCQVJVIFNWWCJd?unavailable=7083307

Please, any texasfags, please save this.

They mostly had issues with the parts of the car that were between the front bumper and the back bumper.

Fun fact, when GM launched the Citation the press demonstrators they loaned out had actually been separately engineered to hide the horrid suspension and ridiculous torque steer of the production models.

Ah that's a good point.
Looks like someone wrote on the windshield too at some point

>das hub.com
what is that site and why do i NEED to register to see?

its a popular salvage site, fun to browse, just don't give them a real email or phone number.

>Sarasota

dude, what's your first name? Do you live in sota?

>boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/d/1997-lexus-sc400-coupe/6416971747.html
that is fuckin awesome i hope you test drive

I'm actually from Panama City, FL.

Just checking out other places in the state for good deals, this TSX caught my eye.

Shopping for babby's first sports car.

What do you guys think of this fair condition Miata with 73k miles on the clock?

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/1993-mazda-miata/6431705430.html

>hard to find one this nice

Spotted a 97 Volvo 960 for $700, 150k miles. No pics but they listed it passed inspection in May.
What's wrong with it? $700 seems super low.

No pic is an instant red flag.

>passed inspection
It's been totalled and rebuilt.
Also No pics, no sale.

Would buy just for the frosty meme wing.

siouxfalls.craigslist.org/cto/d/1998-pontiac-grand-prix/6422629442.html
How long do you think I could hoon it before the supercharger blew up?

miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/d/2004-saturn-ionclean/6441244009.html

Am I insane for liking this interior?

>hooning in an autotragic

sounds boring tbqh

No you're not crazy, normies just like things like interior and trunk space.

Buddy has an ion around the same year. He built a big ass sound system in it. That one genuinely looks decent.

inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/1990-mazda-miata/6425757005.html

Texted the guy and he said the engine/transmission are original, there's no way this is legit right?

He even says it's never been drifted before...

I'm genuinely considering it. I was in the market for an SUV, decided to check out the stick shift cars for the lulz, ended up actually wanting them instead.

Probably 75k miles assuming you drive it like a granny more than you do hektik wots.

bump

How are these things auto?
losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/1993-nissan-240sx-convertible/6432226107.html

monterey.craigslist.org/cto/d/2007-customized-ford-mustang/6414638657.html

>Buy a cheap, supercharged shitbox

I think you're on the wrong website, mate.
