Countermeasures you use

Hey there! Haven't seen a countermeasure thread in a long time, and what better way to end off the year by explaining your setup, and plans for next year!

I'm currently running a uniden R3 and v1 for radar detectors, I picked up a Zaon PCAS in October to help fight vascar in my state (WI), running front and rear dashcams, and a cheap old police scanner set to my local channels.

Next year's plans include upgrading the police scanner to a digital one, a new CB, getting ALP setup on my car, maybe try out the Radenso RC-M (budget permitting), and finally finishing my break light kill switch.

Radar detectors are for pussies.

Sorry with mostly Australians on this board, please delete this post. Being in possession of a radar detector is a $2500 fine and 9 demerit points (you only get 12 on full license or 4 on provisional)

I thought we got 6 on our Ps. This is disturbing.

How do you like the Uniden R3? I want to buy one but $400 for my first radar detector is a tough pill to swallow. I'm in NY/NJ too and while a lot of cops here use KA Wide Band a few are switching over to Laser (but Laser requires them to actually point the gun at your car vs Radar that can be ran automatically)

escort ix. it was pretty useful on the cross country trip i took from ny to wa. also gives laser alerts, which is good.

Sucks to live in a nanny state.
I bought a cheap Beltronics RX65 for $100 and it works great and I have avoided speeding tickets on roads trips with it. I was pulled over last month and the cop didn't even care about. I'm also in Texas and every country boy owns one of these detectors. My specific detector is fine, but it gets some occasional false alarms on normal city roads.

It's pretty good to me. Range is phenomenal, but like you said, it is a bit pricey

The countermeasure which I find works best is being white and not hooning B-)

I go 5 above the limit max

It's amazing that someone can put this much effort into trying to not get penalized for driving like a fucking retard but still can't learn the difference between 'brake' and 'break.'

>his department doesn't use encrypted lines
>how to spot an user living in a shit hole

Any decent LEA doesn't use open lines to the public.

>he can't break the encryption
It's ok brainlet

i'm running a gps which hasn't been updated since 2011 and a dash cam that's sitting there because i don't have an sd card

Nobody should go without a mediocre to good cheap dashcam behind their windshield to prove they are not at fault fault (legally) for the actions of the morons around them

I'm in England where owning one is legal so git gud aussie.
You might get more car imports, but thats the only good thing about your country.

Pussies are for guys who drive fast and stay out of jail

Post best budget dash cams then

>doesn't understand how digital trunked systems work
duuurrrrr . . . post some keys to a major agency bro

old shark
goes on sale pretty often on amazon, got mine for $40

+1 for you user

Escort Max 360. Directional indicators lag, and the phone companion app seems to be mostly useless, but GPS letting you lock out (and save) false positives is a huge plus along highways that have traffic sensors. Has probably paid for itself already -- it's nice getting radar warnings before you can see the police (and before the police can see you).

Good call on the PCARS, though. I'm not a pilot and had no idea that was a thing. You think the traffic enforcement planes leave their transponders on, or is that for """""civilians"""""?

I am in the process of drafting up a laser-jammer. Design of the driver is in the works, but it will couple to a 905nm 75W laser diode. Of course, there will be several of these devices, front and rear of the vehicle, that will deliver 30ns wide pulses at a rate of 1MHz or greater (if needed).

Those who stay out of jail are able to out run cops and not become bubba's personal pussy.

i own an r1, honestly its performance is amazing if you live out in a more rural area like me range is king.. i have had friends get tickets over 300$ anyway

Best Value - Xiaomi Yi $70
Most Discrete / Durable - A119 $90
Cheapest - G1W-(C)B $56

I found a Escort iX Radar Detector on Craigslist for $200, is that worth buying or should I get a Uniden R3? I live in NYC/NJ and this'll be my first detector. Most cops here run KA-band (Usually State Troopers with Stalker Units)

In my area they leave it on, obviously other areas may be different. Soon they will be moving to ads-b for aircraft, but that's going to be better for us since you can pic that up with an iPad and an attachment that's only a few hundred bucks

Best of luck with that! I'd be very curious to see how that works out. Maybe someday I'll have one of your products on my car

>Radar detectors are legal in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan
>Live in Ontario

I got this $5 Cobra at a yard sale it's from the late 80s I'm broke to even try it but I think it looks cool.
