you could have a comparable GT86 by removing the rear seats, stereo, etc and you could pull more power from the engine.

but, the idea of a modern 2002 is great. take the Z4 platform, shorten the front box (no need for a long front end if you have a 3 cylinder), CF roof/hood/truck. would be pretty cool

Why would I want a mechanical diff when there are torsens and other fancier betterer diffs out there and very much so available to BMW?

The M3 CS is slower around the Nurburgring and Chuckwalla, only beating the QV around Anglesey and Magny-Cours. Not exactly ''wrecked'' then.

Similarly, the Alfa is quicker to 30, 60 and 100MPH than the C63S. Unless you live in Germany, acceleration to 150MPH is much less relevant. It takes about 20 seconds before the C63 manages to catch up from a standstill, so it hardly wrecks the Giulia. If you're that one German dude cruising the Autobahn at 250kph, you might as well get the C63 and put a 600hp tune on it.

M3 CS is on another league, I supposed you meant M3 CP and M3 CP has no Nurburgring time.
M3 is faster than the Alfa on Thunder Hill, Sachsenring, Inta, Boxberg, Anglesey and others.
Alfa is also slower than the 365hp BMW M2 on Anglesey, Anneau du Rhin and Hockenheim.
