Good evening Veeky Forums. I decided to finally pull the trigger on my first new car, and I made a deposit for a reserve slot for the 2018 GT350.

I've never driven a Mustang or any RWD vehicle before, so I'm planning to take the first year carefully and slowly while I learn to get used to the car before tracking it or anything like that. I watched several Youtube videos of people who already own one on what it's like to daily drive it, so I'm expecting lots of fuel stops, creeping police cars, and car spotters to hover around me at times. Does anyone here who owns one or owns a car in the same class/price range have any further advice for me when I eventually get it? I'm receiving it in a little over a year.

Pic related, it's the color scheme I ordered.

Basically just don't be one of those retards who gun it in front of crowds with zero practice in controlling the vehicle.

Oh trust me, I've seen a lot of those Cars and Coffee videos to know how infamous the Mustangs are at crashing from showing off. For sure I'll avoid that.

My recommendation if you're really worried about wrecking it is to buy the cheapest v8 mustang you can on Craigslist and learn to handle power on that, the gt350 will handle much better but if you learn on some clapped out beater you'll be better since its harder.
I'm mad jelly because I REALLY want a new gt350 with that glorious flat plane V8

This sounds like a good idea. Babby's first RWD can be a bit of a handful even at low power until you get the hang of it.

On the upside, it's winter, which means snowy parking lots, which are objectively the best way to get used to how your new car reacts and how to anticipate what it's going to do and learn how to control it.

A few of my friends own older MY GTs, so I'll ask them if I can test ride around in their's. Thanks for that.

It's not the car's fault. It's just that those people have never done it before yet they think they can control it perfectly first try.

This is bait

Yeah, that too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the cause usually people trying to accelerate during a turn as opposed to waiting until they're straightened out?

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not baiting. It's my first new car, but not my first car period. I'm just asking for advice ahead of time so I can avoid being an idiot on the road.
