Europoor here I'm looking to buy a good value small-medium car that doesnt surpass 15k eurobucks, thing is I also want something that looks neat since I dont want to hate myself for buying a tool
Other than a Mazda 2 what would you say is a good looking accessible car? Just looks mind you, I drove one of those fucking things that people use in PUBG, I really cant imagine a modern car being worse than a fucking meme car made by commies.
Liam Cruz
go for it, mazda is great.
Carson Gonzalez
I'm only hesitating on the mazda 2 because I think they might come out in a year or 2 with a gorgeous redesign, since this one has been out for a few years
thanks for your answer buddy, I'm really clueless but other than space problems I've seen nothing but good stuff about mazda, especially reliability
Justin Wright
Honestly it's already gorgeous.
Xavier Foster
15k gets you so many great options but you choose a disgusting fwd shitmobile
Isaac Edwards
Get a used 2009 Jaguar XF supercharged for tha price m8.
>5.0L supercharged V8
>But Jaguars are unreliable
Jaguars are mechanically rock solid. Usually it's the electrics that let them down. If you care for it and are not a complete fool, you can go 300k miles on it.
Julian Ward
Mazda2 is a good option, so is the ford fiesta.
He wants a new car, not a sports car beyond his budget thats already been beaten to death so he can play cleanup cuckjob for it.
Thomas Reed
>sports car He can get a very reliable e60 or e90 535d/335d with great fuel mileage and decent power and way better build quality than that shopping cart mazda.
Noah Lewis
I wish we still got the Mazda 2 hatchback in the US, closest thing is a the sedan rebadged as a Toyota.
Wyatt Baker
>That will be $5k per year in maintenance please
Andrew James
Maybe that's the case in Europe I have no idea. In my experience in the US, BMW is a shitheap car company selling overpriced commuter vehicles that break down every 1000 miles.
Chase Evans
>He doesn't do his maintenance himself
Nothing more rewarding than fixing codes and changing your spark plugs yourself.
Sebastian Lopez
That is if you do it yourself.
Adrian Fisher
Used BMWs are the best cheap, sporty daily drivers for the money in Europe
Jose Powell
why not a Twingo GT TCE 110bhp it's a little smaller but so is a mazda2
Anthony Adams
>Mazda 2 >Good looking
Pick one.
It's also a total snorefest to drive.
Camden Perez
buy a used Fiesta
Jose Martin
15k gets you a brand new Fiesta with everything you want in it in the USA. ST is in the 23k range. For 15k he can get a used Fiesta ST easily.
Cooper Wright
Kia Cee'd is one of the best hatchbacks on the market today. Rock solid, cheap to buy, cheap to run. Both diesel and petrol 1.6 engines are great for day to day driving, and the rare 2.0 petrol is quite a fast animal. And if you won't buy a Cee'd because you're a badgewhore, kys
Jayden Evans
Maybe 2017 Suzuki Swift?
Cooper Diaz
Kia Rio is a better car But around his budget he can pick up a nice Kia Optima anyways
Luke Wright
the new model is 3000 euros more expensive than the previous one
Jayden Jenkins
LADA VESTA
Angel Harris
Honestly all cars in this category are gay looking boring suffering mobiles I'd rather kms than spend 15k on such piece of shit
Benjamin Walker
You may get a Fiesta for that money but according to TUV testing they have twice the failure rate of the Mazda 2 or Opel Adam after 2 years. Putting it joint 55th on the list with the ix20
Even less reliable at 84th.
Unsurprisingly better than Kia at 72nd.
Noah Jones
Europoor here The Mazda looks great and has a lot of options but it's more expensive than the competence. Try the new Fiesta
Connor King
Ford will cost you more in the long term.
That's a universal truth not just for this topic.
Samuel Robinson
I literally purchased a brand new 2017 Ford Fiesta model S with some bullshit options like spoke steel rims and other shit I really don't care about, for only $10,700 in the state of Vermont in October. The Fiesta ST on the lot was priced at around 23k sticker if I remember right.
What do they run in Europe? I thought they were just as cheap over there.
Ryder Myers
You could get a slightly used clio sport for that price and have something fun.
Kayden Brown
Around 18k for a new Titanium spec 1.0 Ecoboost 100hp
Nicholas Gutierrez
>titanium Don't get that, the options are a waste of money. I'm pretty sure they're all automatic as well, and the Selectshift DCT is the most unreliable part of the car. The S is rock solid manual.
Mason Jones
At 97th on the list it's even less reliable than the Rio in 90th.
Nicholas Myers
All Euro Fiestas are available with a manual gearbox
Christian Brown
Buy whatever grey shitbox you want then.
Evan Campbell
the new fiesta looks shite. Just get a Mk7 ST
Benjamin Bailey
The new Ibiza is the best car in this segment
Lincoln Miller
Just trying to help op with reliability data.
Adrian Miller
after the Tipo hatchback maybe
Levi Anderson
Tipo is C-segment
Parker Nguyen
>0 star safety rating
Justin Reyes
fully specced, brand new 14k
Cameron Thomas
i20 coupe
Owen Richardson
>Tipo > 0 stars ok?? LOL
Colton Cox
This, Fiesta is the benchmark for small hatches and I don't even like Ford
Easton Perry
Except the Mazda scored much better than the Fiesta after 5 years in the German TÜV, which is a very big deal. They are rock-solid reliable and are actually fun to drive. They dont have turbos that blow up and are generally headache-free.
Elijah Hernandez
>They dont have turbos that blow up This really shouldn't be a problem for a new car and I'd take the 1.0 ecoboost over most other small petrols.
Andrew Williams
this desu boosterjet and 4wd
Zachary Allen
Lots of small hatches score well above the Ford after just 2 years.
You are right it shouldn't be, and it isn't, apart from on turbo Fords.
Luis Rogers
just get a twingo for 1k faggot. 15k would buy you a much more interesting car
Jacob Hughes
I own the North American Mazda 2 (Toyota IA). It's about 500lbs lighter than my old VW Golf and a bit faster. It also gets 44 mpg in the winter and is fun to throw around. Probably the safest subcompact, Hyundai has the worst rating. Power to weight is fine, I go 75mph on the highway.
Brayden Clark
>Tipo
Sure enjoy boring cars with poor safety.
OP, never buy new. Go out and buy something that's actually good and cheap for £5000 and will last more than 5 years. New cars are quite literally a scam under a certain price point unless you are buying a shitbox like a Dacia Sandynegro where it costs £6k and you won't care about it.
You can buy a used fucking S-CLASS for less than a brand new car and you can buy 'hot hatch' Sedans for less than that which have 4 wheel drive, do 0-60 in under 6 seconds and you can fucking do shit in other than commute because they have a boot you can hide a hooker in.
Do not buy a shitty hatchback. They are worthless if you arent a 17 year old girl.
Ayden Anderson
You can get a used sub 50.000km 2015 Mazda 3 for that kind of money.
William Brown
Recently got a Honda Jazz(Fit) in a similar price range and I quite like it. Unfortunately is and ugly fucker
Connor Rogers
Get the Mazda2. Things fucking FAST!
Christian Thomas
sup
Henry Roberts
Thats complete bullshit, jags are unreliable even in the engine, Dad has a 2014 XF V6 AWD, steering pump broke 2 times, a cooling hose decided to sudoku 2 times aswell, also yeah the electronics are shit, one day the gps decided he was from belgium and now everytime you start the car u need to change the location back, and the ventilation thingy that moves the fans up and down killed itself and now they are stuck open, fucking jags are so beautifull fun to drive and everything, but reliability is defo not a thing on them
Hunter Perez
>not a 2nd gen GT for 3k
Oliver Diaz
ITT people thinking that being able to run, insure and service 15k new car and used car is exactly same thing.
Are you all underage or just retarded?
Ryan Stewart
He can buy a nearly new Mk7 Fiesta ST for £15k (or Euros) The running costs would be mostly the same apart from slightly worse MPG, but he'd be buying the best small hot hatch of its generation with endless tuning and aftermarket options.
Ethan Reed
Not really, quick look at used car sites and fiesta ST for model year 2014 and up costs around 18 000 euro and more.
Parker Diaz
>535d >335d >great fuel mileage Pick none you stupid fuck. Gas is ~1.4 € in germoney/austria/switzerland/italy, that mazda does 5L / 100 KM easily even in the 115 HP trim, an old BMW will be close to 10L / 100 KM. At the end of the year the difference will be in the thousands of euro.
Robert Martin
They need to ditch the pointless cx3 and bring back the 2
Justin Bailey
The CX-3 is the same thing but taller and more expensive, right?
Ian Kelly
Yeah it's like they tried to make a Mazda 3 using the 2's platform and just ended up with a pointless vehicle
Jaxson Green
Normies love taller seating positions because it makes them feel safer, so they'll gladly pay a bit more.
And you could always get a Scion/Yaris iA and put a Mazda 2 front clip on it, they're the same car except one's a hatch and the other is some weird baby sedan thing.
Jace Smith
I am normie I drive audi a6 but I am sure as hell am getting crossover next maybe its me getting old, but fuck this twisting knees when getting in and out or having every fuckers headlights right in the face.
Ryder Sanchez
Get out, stop ruining cars, reeeeeeeeeeeee etc.
Gabriel Howard
OP here, great thread so far, thanks for the input
I have so many fucking second hand temptations but I want a car that wont give me surprises and I want to use it to tour around yurop, so I'm looking at something new rather than a deal for a second hand
my shortlist so far is the new polo because of all the tech crammed up its ass, the new ibiza which is the same platform as the polo but looks neater and is more expensive and has shit interior and less tech -fuck me right?-, mazda 2 or killing myself and saving money for a new mazda 5 in a few more years
Angel Nguyen
Also consider the cheapest version of the Polo, the Skoda Fabia.
Jayden Sanders
I was in one recently, honestly its a great car but I am trying to find a car I really love to look at whereas the fabia is just a good car without much personality
the new polo is boxy and I think it's got more personality than a fabia personally
Robert Mitchell
You mean the outgoing gen Polo or pic related? Because the new Polo's design really bothers me.
Dealers will probably be trying to get rid of the "old" Polo stock so you might be able to snap one of those up with a nice discount though, which is nice.
Robert Lewis
this new boxy thing, I like it, I like weird looking cars though, when I first started looking for a new car I had my eyes set on the new C3 and every time I see it I still really like that weird fucking thing
John Hughes
i ctrl+F and only one guy said it Honda Jazz (called Fit in the ameriland)
just check it out, I remember it being quite a heavy hitter in its class
and as I said in other comment, I would definitely go for crossover Mazda CX-3 starts at 15 200€ here in eastern europe and I would trust it more going for travel around europe than small hatchback class
Anthony Bell
i saw one just a few hours ago and I cant lie I really like how it looks too, but I cant justify buying a entry level cx3 when I could have a higher trim mazda 2 with parking sensors and shit
besides I read that one the inside theyre basically the same fucking thing
Michael Myers
That's because the CX-3 is the same thing as the 2, just taller and more expensive.
Daniel Stewart
Fucking retard, if you want an economy car you have to get fwd, I went from driving a rwd v8 to a fwd econobox and I've got no problems with fwd
Joshua Allen
You deserve what ever ridiculous maintenance and service bills you get if you're stupid enough to buy a British car, especially a used one
Camden Morris
>Dacia Sandynegro
Austin Brooks
>Fucking retard, if you want an economy car you have to get fwd Kek my friends 320d gets 4.5l/100km on highways and 6.5l/100km city driving You don't '''have''' to get fwd if you're not a retard
