Why does HotS get continually new updates, but OW doesn't? What's the deal? I can't believe that HotS is more popular, so there has to be some other reason.

Overwatch doesn't need more updates, they need to fix the balancing and stop touching it.
Release mods, and that's it.
I don't understand this need to randomly change the balance over and over.
And it doesn't need anymore heroes, TF2 has done fine with only 9.

Hots used to be just as dead with very slow updates but it got better when they moved some devs to Overwatch.

OW needs updates because the game doesn't let you do mega basic shit like pick what gamemode you want to play or solo queue or have all arcade modes available at the same time.

But thats normal, new heroes are unavailable for 1-2 weeks in comp, then they go "live" in comp. This week is the expected release to comp. Either they're waiting till 8pmEST to release summer games and DF comp, or Thursday for a full week in QP.

It's actually mostly Jeff. Geoff has no control over updates. He's just constantly working with programmers on balance and debugging. Lots and lots of debugging. Overwatch is probably the buggiest game Blizzard has ever released and it's still buggy.

It's call quickPLAY. You're supposed to be playing the game. Really the only difference between qp and comp is less stressing over meta picks and people are also more experimental in qp.

If you wanna spam emotes go make a custom game.
