Even though you don't get the benefit of seeing the extra frames on your screen, you reduce the delay of mouse and keyboard inputs, and some other bullshit.

They're using m_rawinput 1 where frame rate affects input lag - or rather, the frame displayed doesn't represent where you have moved your mouse at the right time or it happens unevenly
Just with higher frame rates though, as the frame displayed on your screen is normally the latest one drawn your display that is updating at fixed intervals is simply showing more up-to-date visual of the game.
You don't need "proof", just puzzle out why game having a frame update within as few milliseconds as possible to your actual monitor update rather than having it up to your monitor's refresh interval apart improves the feel of the game.
Frames are not drawn in sync of your monitor update, leaving GPU no choice but to present whatever is the latest frame drawn at the time to the monitor and this causes inherent input lag depending on how far off these two are.
If you're at 60Hz and are running 500FPS, the delay caused by this lack of sync is between 0 and 2ms. At 200FPS, it's between 0 and 5ms. Cap your FPS to your monitor and it's between 0 and 16.6ms.
I don't even want to explain how screen tearing also ties into this, short version, higher FPS = less tear.

How dumb can you be?

Go in a game by yourself and keep changing the FPS cap in increments of 50 and see how it changes how your mouse input responds and how camera pans smooth out as FPS increases. Generally you should cap your FPS to the lowest you expect to get in game, or thereabouts, because as FPS changes it messes with your mouse sensitivity.

the reason many people set fps_max to 0 is because it increases overall FPS and not just the peaks.
I tried 150 and ended up dropping below that a lot in situations where without the cap my FPS stayed above 200.
Apparently this is because frame limiting isn't particularly effectively or well handled process for the GPU. Consistent input lag is great but minimizing it as much as possible is often better.

That's wrong. It's been given the rng treatment. It's no longer accurate past the distance of pit to long doors. A shot from mid doors to top mid will miss unless you're lucky or crouch peeking.

The only use it has is a 2 hit body kill on a full bought player, but you're still better off with a deag, simply due to Juan deag potential with a peek, which an r8 can't do, since you have to know the enemy position before you peek.

No it isn't, it's far from it. Yeah it's the most accurate gun whilst moving with left click but there's still some RNG spread with it running. You won't be hitting running headshots with it at any consistency past medium range.

It works if I go down to 144hz, but I can't play 4:3 stretched on 240hz, that's when Failed to create D3D device happens

I'm on the Pit Viper for my awp. It looks pretty unique but doesn't draw much attention. It's a bit over $1. For the AK, try the elite build. Looks good, usually a little over $1 as well.

make sure you have support for the resolution and Hz rate on your PC.
Try using CRU to make a valid 4:3 resolution in 240Hz with it.
It's a fun tool, you can play in just about any aspect ratios with it in CS:GO. 3:2 or 10:7 or anything arbitrary between them still gives you the advantage of stretch but with wider view. 1.33(4:3) is really damn narrow.

240hz 1280x1024 works perfectly fine in Windows, and probably other games from what I can read online
but in CSGO it's iffy
