McLaren F1 GTR vs. CanAm rockets, some good onboard of dat S70/2 V12 at full tilt

god no one cares
cared enough to post didn't ya
what in the fug?!
Back in the 90's BMW needed a testbed for the S70/2 LM V12 engine for their upcoming BMW LMR prototype racecar, but nothing in their inventory had a big enough engine bay for the giant S70, except for the X5. The S70/2 is a large and wide engine and even the 7-series wasn't big enough for those DOHC heads so they dropped it in a modified X5 and gave it AWD.
kinda like this marvel of engineering
On jewtube, try Merlin engines, F1 engines, crazy diesel engine starts...

Maybe not insanely sounding but I think it still qualifies.
no, those are for the people who don't really care about cars.
I probably shouldn't try to explain this, but I will anyways.
The sound of a proper race motor on full tilt will make me feel better than my favorite songs out there. It makes the hair on my neck stand up. It makes breathing hard and manual. During the best notes I have to hold my breath in.
Actually getting to drive a car with a race engine doesn't only make me hear it, but I feel it vibrating on my chest.
On the cars I love I have no music equipment. Just the gas pedal and the trumpets under the bonnet.
>eyes become moist from a cars engine sound
And I thought i was the only who does this.

Nothing better than a V10.
Got to thinking about how mazda could design the rx9 to sound like a rotary without using one, but still having a weird car. It would be cool if they used some whining racing gearbox with a unique skyactiv motor, like a straight 5 or 6, and tuned the exhaust and tranny sound to be similar to a rotary, and had similar torque curves to a rotary, but without all the drawbacks. I worry about some stupid shit.
Holden 5ltr is the best sounding v8 desu. Shit power and high fuel consumption, but sounds joocy

imagine unknowingly being time traveled into the future to that spot and wondering what in gods name is that thing coming towards you
that sounds like shit, k24 or j32 swap it instead
itb sound glorious, but as far as i know it's rather costly stuff. that being said, you might be suprised, people often sulk at miata sound but i think my nb sounds cool, roaring from intake at >4.5k rpm
What a gutless piece of shit.
Not my car, but I have a corvette with the same cam in it

This is possibly the first car video I ever saw on the internet. Way before youtube I think it was on streetfire or even before that service
Oh baby, can't beat the sound of a true American V8.
AMERICAN POWER
So basically, while Americans put truck engines in shitbox chassis and call them musclecars, BMW put a car engine inside a truck.
do you guys want insanely good or insanely bad?
cause i have an insanely bad one if you guys want it.
fact: the E53 X5 is still the fastest SUV on the Nurburgring, faster than the Stelvio and Cayenne
Anybody else like the sound of old pushrod inline 4s? Idk why but they seem to sound much nicer, at least to me, than DOHC 16 valve 4s. Probably more to do with combustion chamber shape, port design, manifold design etc. Than anything else though.
This kind of did it the first time I heard it haha
>not KL swapping it
it sounds like someone is pretending to make car sounds
>prrrrAAAAAPPPPPPPP
>wruuuuuu
this is sooo fucking good
behold the best sounding V8 ever produced
