Still in production or the lightest car ever?
I would say no older than the 80s, maybe late 70s
ford festiva
Bmw isetta
It's from 1959, and you cannot easly buy it
Geo Metro is a decent candidate.
Light, but not the lightest, good candidate though
This, festivas weigh fucking nothing.
You can get street legal golf carts that are 1000lbs or less. You can also get race kit cars powered by sport bike engines that weigh 400kgs.
They weight 700–780 kg while first gen Honda Civic Weights 680kg
Subaru mini Jumbo, 645 Kg.
Thats the lightest one I've seen, great suggestion
The follow-up version of the mini Jumbo, the vivio, weighs even less. 625 Kg.
>Subaru mini Jumbo
Damn, that is light as hell
90's Suzuki Alto weighs 612 Kg.
DAMN, how light can we get?
There's also the first gen Daihatsu cuore. But its i kind of rare i guess. It weighs 575 Kg, i think this is the lightest car i can think of right now.
I imagine it's being held up by internal air pressure like a balloon lol
also 612kg
>Daihatsu cuore
Yeah, but this doesn't have a roof, it's more of a glorified go cart, than a car
A Suzuki mighty boy is like 550kg
381kg
Holy cow, that is amazingly light, so far this one qualifies as the lightest
Wow! Such a cool car, didnt know Suzuki made mini utes.
Renault twizy coming in at 450Kg
First thing i would do, driving one of these though
Lol, thats not even a car, a damn gocart for the streets
It has 4 wheels, a roof, doors and seats for two. Sounds like a 'car' to me. Also, these things are being sold and driven here in europe.
If that qualifies as doors, then these do too
I can't find the weight of this.
But the 2001 Aixam 400 is 350kg
...
air cooled rusted beetle that's still running.
wouldn't trust my life on it.
>2001 Aixam 400
Complete death trap, love it!
That's just a quad bike with a windscreen.
AND a roof
On the topic of mopeds with a roof on it. There's a dutch version of these kind of cars.
350kg and 200cc of pure madness, the Canta
The Tata Nano is 580-600kg, fits several people and can be bought new.
Holy fuck, ok this qualifies, I guess???
VAZ-1111 is a small boy.
My 16 year old hot wheels car.
but it weights over 600 kg
Velorex?
Didn't know it was that heavy, cheers.
Hmm, this one looks like a three wheeler, should have specified that it has to have 4 wheels, cheers
The Reliant regal
695kg :)
Cant believe Fiat 500 and MINI havent been posted yet, I think they weigh 515 and 611 kg's but not sure exactly. I really want to drive one tho
Yeah, the classic minis are fun as fuck, my dad has a couple of them. They dont have much power but with the stiff suspension, light weight and wheels near the corners they feel like go karts.
another similar microcar is the sulky m1. Stock it has a 50cc 2 stroke.
Couldn't find anything about weight, but I did find this.

Driving starts at 1:57
>mighty boy
That name is amazing.
>imagine driving this pedal to the metal on the highway
Realistically, how quick would you die?
>mini Jumbo
wut
From the wind or the cold?
>CTRL+F Caterham

I am disappoint
my step dad used to have a messerschmidt bubble car that was so light 2 people could pick it up and carry it.
doubt those are easy to buy so i guess a 1960s mini, imagine one of those fiber glassed and hole sawed with a tiny turbo engine in
theres one im my little rural town, though it looks like a glorified mobility scooter id love to have a go in it, looks fun
and yeah legally it is a car so i guess it counts
probably the best candidate so far, imagine one thats lightened even further, it would be like a sport bike in the twisties
i dont think it goes fast enough lol, youd have to be on the shoulder, the wind from a passing lorry would probably tip it over too lol
canta literally means bucket in our language
