E39

There's a 2002 525i with 95k miles up on Craigslist, should I work the dealer down to $4500 and buy? This would be my first car.

i'd go with a 530 with a black interior desu

I'll keep an eye out.

The BMW logos are missing from the wheels, if you want to make yourself look like a nig with no class & status then go for it

Just buy the hub caps at a scrapyard or at ebay for like $2 each

get a 530i
in manual
and not silver
and not a from a dealer so you can ask the owner what maintenance they have done
also those wheels are awful

Is 530 6 or 8cyl? I need 6

530 is an i6
535 is a v8

Ok good
How often do E34s and E39s show up on craigslist?

6. The 540i is 8, but I don't know why you don't just man up and get a V8

Don't want to spend the extra money when I don't need the extra power

idk about your area but i'm guessing orlando is big city
hold up i'll look for something good

the 530 is more than enough for a first car
the m62 can be a bit rough for a first timer with (presumably) no wrenching experience

I would definitely check that out in person. Beware though that shit will break and won't be cheap

this looks promising
there really isn't a whole lot of options to choose from
it's auto and the wheels appear to be missing the center caps but it's a lot better than this

i'll keep digging

offer that fucker $2000 and part that fucker out = epic win
M Sport wheel will fetch you some shekels, you can probably fetch a few shekels by selling those hideous chrome wheels to a local Jamal

Thanks mate, gotta have manual though
I probably shouldn't be parting something out if I struggle to take door panels off. How much money could I make though, potential maximum?

Not too sure but id say about twice as much

buy this instead.

Fuck off

No. It's a much better car than the badgewhore 25i.

JESUS CHRIST
that is a fucking abomination

why? It just needs the (rare) M5 wheels resprayed and the m5 emblem removed

>if you want a non-ugly rear wheel drive car you are a badgewhore

The 525i was the badgewhore/lease special model when new. You should always get the biggest engine.

t. compensating American

well shit
if you really want a manual i think an e46 330 might be a better option
your cl is fucking swarmed with e46s yet almost no worthwhile e39s/34s

Yea there's lots of 3 series, some are pretty ratty though. PS I'm two hours north of orlando but them and tampa have the best shit (barring south florida but at that point atlanta is an hour closer)

E39s are money pits. Do the work yourself and they’re a little less worse. 6 cylinder cars are not that bad but yeah they’re only affordable if you do the work yourself and have a good source of used parts for good prices.

no, it's because it's the best horsepower/maintenance cost ratio.

Yeah I'm learning it to do my wrenching with whatever car I go with. Main reason for liking this brand, not because I'm a badgewhore like that other asshat seemed to think but because they're apparently easy to wrench on.

Figured I'd start easy with a cooling system refresh since everything I'm interested in is 90s-00s Bimmer

Drive to atlanta or miami for an actual good bmw. At least the 530i if E39 and 330 if E46.

What if E36? I probably would pass on a 323i but what about 325

E36s are shitboxes. Only worth it for an M3 or mint hatch.

I hope you realize 323i is just as fast as 325i

That was my second car, lovely in every way

Was not aware
What can I find a good-decent M3 for nowadays

Uses more gas, way less reliable, harder to fix

It’s basically almost the same maintenance cost as an M5 but half of the fun.

>It’s basically almost the same maintenance cost as an M5 but half of the fun.
that's a hard no, S62 has notably more things to go wrong that cost way more because m5 parts

in my area low mileage not trashed m3's are around 8-10k

>almost the same maintenance cost of an M5
[citation needed]

Generally, it's regarded as a budget M5 with the V8 roar and torque to throw you back in your seat with less of the M5 headache

What about this
