I just started today and im going through all the single player challenges to stockpile currency before i play multiplayer. Im currebtly stuck on the final boss of monsters with my skellige deck. any tips?

Yeah, Woodland Spirit. You'll see that card a lot in Gwent, unfortunately. Dagon is a pretty difficult challenge for new players, so don't feel bad. Play some casual and get some kegs if you don't feel like you have the cards to beat him right now.

Nah i beat him, i got a decent gap between us on round 2, forcing out his buffs and the rest of his hand while i passed. then on round 3 hr only had 20 points on me with woodland spirit and couldnt buff, i also baited the fog to go onto a different row. Then its just skellige ressurecting shit from the graveyard from there.

there's no way henselt reavers is not gonna get nerfed, they're letting the community come up with "ignore board and come up with auto win combo" decks, only explanation why they're letting monster and discard run wild

one of them will be Lifecoach's brainlet dwarf deck

the top 2 decks are "leave a shit ton of bodies on board with res" (monster) and "leave a shit ton of bodies on board with a discard mechanic"
(bran)

and so far the only counter is "play solitaire with
res" (dwarves) and "play autowin combo at r3" (henselt)

either they're absolute mad-men sniffing out the dumb shit to cull it for release or they're suicidal

It's so unfun, you can't do anything have the time because you either run some dumb fucking tech like shackles that loses you the game 95% of the time, but when you don't you run into cunt who has 0 brains who just renews triss butt every fucking round because the only thing that matters is just dumping deathwish and buffing

What that user said. Really the only full tutor in Gwent is Reinforcements, but it also kind of applies to targeted card-pulls like elf mercenary and Yaevin and shit.

I've actually been out of Magic for so long I don't even know what if any tutors it has any more. Possibly my most valuable card is a beta or some fucking thing copy of pic related but I'm not sure since I can't be bothered to look shit up.

Hjalmar easily. Draug is shit and assassination is mega-shit.

Just to hammer it home even more, Hjalmar is especially good because he works well with the starter cards too. Holger and Triss both let you pop Undvik easily. Being able to lock Undvik makes him way weaker than he used to be but he's still a playable card.

I'm NR too, you should be fine. I got up to top 1000 north America before I stopped giving a shit playing as NR. Discard Skellige wasn't that bad, you just ideally want Keira and/or Dethmold in round 1 and if you don't get them then you need to be prepared to either light cav or pass round 1 easily.

Can't wait for these new cards to arrive. I wanna make an Emhyr deck with the new beastkeeper silver to spawn Griffins to break up revive-focused decks, and to put friendly units in the opponent's graveyard so I can resurrect them with medics.

Oh, yeah. The golds could hurt. Philipa's definitely nice for a starter but she's a bit all over the place and not super amazing against swarm decks. And going for stuff like Djikstra and Keira can feel rough since they look pretty bad on paper.

Yaevin, operator or grave hag?

Operator is general purpose useful in a fair number of decks, grave hag is critical to consume, Yaevin is good in most non-dwarf squirrel decks.

Since you're playing dwarf none of those fit terribly well, but Yaevin would let you expand into non-dwarf squirrel. Operator's solid for a good number of decks. Grave hag's mandatory if you want to play consume. They're all solid picks, difficult to really recommend one over the rest. Probably Operator if you're getting sick of playing squirrel. Operator also would work well in an axeman Skellige deck to go with that Hjalmar you just got.

I can. I pulled like 4 Lamberts out of kegs when I still had more than half the silvers in the game unopened. Shoop is a piece of shit.

I had over 150 hours in the game before I got a single Hawker Smuggler.

The grind from 4350 to 4500 is insane. 2 losses undos 6 wins

I got to level 38 before getting my first harpy so i can believe that.

I'm kind of stalling at 4150 for the same reason. It's not that severe, but 1 win will undo 2 losses. Pretty hard to maintain a 65+% winrate at this MMR.

3 scorch deck is unreliable vs monsters, worthless vs skellige discard and henselt reavers can push harder R1 than you can, while having a stronger R3

scoia'tel can't play anything else besides alternative memes like that one hawker smuggler deck

basically all you need, you can throw in anything you like for the other 4 slots. preferably big body golds. scoia'tels problem is that outside of braenn and an isengrim/spy combo, it has no major point players outside scorches, meaning it has a fucking weak R3, even if it has CA.
