I have the convenience of an automatic for city driving but when I go skiing I can keep it in 2nd or above with proper throttle control. As well when I got stuck in some snow on an offramp, the drunken plow drivers dumped in a left turn lane. I was able to go from reverse to 2nd gear a few times and rock myself out.

It's a 9000, however, I really do think you should get the 900, towards the later years of the 900, the 9000 and the 900 were very similar mechanically. You will be amazed at the ride quality and the exact steering. Good luck bro, take good care of the car!

The classic 900 is the saabiest Saab, but the 9000 might be the best Saab.

If it isn't a daily I would go with the 900, it does make a fine daily, but the 9000 is much comfier, more efficient, easier to get silly amounts of power, cheaper transmission and transmission upgrade paths.
