Not for Sims 4 apparently because I got a folder named Tumblr Shit Mods and in it I have different categories named Tumblr Shit Build Mods, Tumblr Approved Build Mods, and things like that and it has worked properly so far. I think the one subfolder might apply to script mods however. I don't remember how it was for previous games though.

I am re downloading the sims 3 and i really love the supernatural and unusual aspects of the game. So I wanted to download island paradise for more stuff like mermaids. But I was wondering will just having the pack install destroy my game, even if I'm not using the island map? Also what other packs cause the most performance issues?

The pack won't hurt it. The neighborhood might lag you out though. Personally it's the only neighborhood I never had issues with.
