Ford has a pretty good "performance" lineup going these days. they've got a variety of car platforms to pick from (hot hatch, hotter hatch, crossover, muscle car, offroad truck, supercar) and are generally quite affordable. other manufacturers might have one or two cars that compete like the Golf GTI but no one else has that much variety and all but one is less than $80k.

Taurus SHO will always be the high performance version, plus Ford is an inch away from killing the Taurus anyway.

Holy shit I can almost feel that cheap ass interior. Went to test drive a new Taurus when they got resigned in 2010, scared me off from any of fords cars. That they are still making the same Taurus with the shitty interior and that it looks like they are continuing its shitty interior legacy with this crossover is nothing short of amazing.
Good thing their trucks at least have decent interiors.

I think this is the first ST to not be exclusively manual.
All the older STs (ST170, Mondeo ST, Mk 6 Fiesta and so on) were manual only and the current Fiesta/Focus ST are too

they should kill the Focus ST, FiST is a great cheap option while RS is the expensive enthusiast configuration. Focus ST is some weird place in between, if you want the fun of the FiST but the versatility of the larger Focus you might as well give in and buy a proper crossover with a good engine and AWD.

How fast is it predicted? 0-60 in... 5.0sec? 1/4 mile...?

The current Edge Sport which is what this thing is minus 20 hp does 0-60 in 5.7s with a mid 14s quarter mile. Don't expect the extra 20 hp to work miracles on those numbers.

I have a regular edge, v6 285hp. As my daily driver it honestly hauls ass and handles curves like a dream, mom-mobile deluxe but that's why I have other toys

I’m happy about it for the simple sake of an automaker having an expansive performance lineup. I think only The God Maker, Lexus, is close to them right now. Even if it weren’t Ford I just like to see a company embrace and market performance.
