I was in a gt86 on a track. Passenger though. Got to 190 before having to corner. First time me driving was riding on my bike. Topped out at 200.

That's pretty remarkable. My 1999 topped out at 107, but it was a piece of shit with even shittier tires.

Believe it or not these can reach almost 130mph if you stand on the gas long enough.

That's not too hard to believe. I once got a 1991 mitsubishi lancer SEI running a 1.6L 12-valve SOHC 4cyl up to 195kmph.

Topped out at that speed and I couldn't quite get it to 200. And it took over a minute of driving on a stretch of road that went for kilometres to get from 150 to 195. But hey, it got there.

That's sad. Reminds me of my friend who used to own (well I guess he still technically owns) a nissan cefiro (not sure of the year, early 90's I think) running an RB25DET. He took out drifting and accidentally drove it off the side of a bank.

There was no substantial damage to it other than some dents to the body and a cracked windscreen, but the car stayed right-way-up throughout the ordeal and the engine still ran without any problems or worrying sounds afterwards.

However, to say it was stuck is understating it. There was no way we could pull it out, so...we just left it there. We came back months later and it was still there, hidden underneath heaps of vegetation and growth from the surrounding trees. That was years ago though. If it's still there, it's probably almost part of the natural flora there now...

the limiter was exactly 110mph. felt stable. did this for about 3 minutes straight on an empty highway at 4am with my lights off. was trying to get home before parents woke up.

My first car, recently sold it to a friend who crashed it less than 3 weeks later. RIP MX5 you were too good for this world.

That's sad. I remember about a year ago there was guy in my town who drunk drove an RX7 at about 150kmph just adjacent to the city center, before crashing and flipping it in a nearby suburban neighbourhood. The car was beautiful but so damaged there was no question about it being written off right there and then.

A friend of mine was even lucky enough to be walking down the street he crashed it on when it happened and saw it go up in the air and flip it. Apparently he had to actually pull the guy out of the car, all covered in blood, because the guy was a mixture of too drunk and too hurt from the crash to be able to climb out himself.

That guy pretty much became a social pariah overnight. Understandable, I mean he was doing 150kmph in a crowded neighbourhood and fucked up the majority of someone's front yard when he crashed. Pretty lucky he was the only person who got hurt.

In Japan, they have laws in place so that all domestic vehicles have to have a limiter put on the engine so it can't go over 180kmph. So if the car then gets exported to another country, unless someone decides to have the limiter removed, it will still have it.

I was talking to a lady a while ago who told me she bought a japanese import, discovered it had a limiter, took it off and now she can get it up to 230kmph. Can't remember what kind of car it was though.

2003 Audi A4 1.8T

The DOHC 1.9 is actually a pretty solid 4 cylinder. 124/122 isn't bad for a NA economy engine. I rev the piss out of mine all the time for keks.

First time hitting speed limiter was in my Silverado topping out at 100mph before the computer quit feeding the engine gas. Probably a good thing (no airbags probably and idk that the seatbelt would do it's job. Still. I'd worry more about others in a crash like that than myself). I've had one more vehicle since then (my 2nd vehicle ever) which tops out at 115 electronically and seems to have a bit more in it. R50 pathy.

And when I was 16 I took my granddad's 350z on a joyride and got just under 160 on it in 6th with more to give.

190kmh, was going for 200 but then someone was coming the opposite way. Very smooth all the way to 190 only felt fast above 160. Rated top speed is 220 but it could go faster
