I just bought a 2018 Toyota Avalon for 8 grand off sticker, AMA

you're a fucking retard

why wouldn't you buy any of the older 2GR variants for like $5,000 instead?

What leads you to believe it was not grossly overpriced in the first place, or did you just think -8k would impress us more?

...why?

Really nice car user, sorry to say that buying used probably would've been a better deal like the others would imply. Veeky Forums never recommends buying new unless the car's memes are dank enough
>i.e the 2018 avalon came with a rotary
>was upgraded to be RWD
>has a manual option
etc.

>buying a new car
>ever
Are you a special kind of stupid?

How do you like driving the same kind of car my Grandma drives?

I think it's a tremendous value in a new, 4dr sedan. I buy new cars and drive them for 200K and get a new one. I've owned Saabs, Audis, Volkswagons, a Volvo, a Nissan, and Toyotas. In trucks, I've owned Fords. When I say truck I mean commercial I mean 1 tons.

Who comes to Veeky Forums to post about their new Toyota Avalon?
This board is made up of Miata enthusiasts. If you're the type to come to Veeky Forums in the first place, then it stands to reason you'll be bored of your new Avalon in 2 years or less.

We do lots of miles, we are a family of motoring fools, new works for us from a numbers and down-time standpoint. Oh, I forgot about my '77 318i, that was a fun little car. Oh, and the '86 Alfa Grad. Love my cars mang

All were/are stick up to and including my '99 A6 Q bi-turbo. What a great sleeper! Non-sport was dope on my 80 mi. commute at the time.

I am old and have driven, owned, wrenched a lot. Dirt bikes, pedal bikes, tractors, I have a '63 IH crawler tractor with a 9 ft. straight blade, that's fun. Gas over diesel. Old Ford hundred series, new 50 hp Kubota. i am doing the toyota thing atm. '16 4Runner Trail is my main rig, wife will drive the kids in the Avy, yo.

does it have any cool quirks or features?

When my EVO, now RS-buddy got my txt, he said my phone got stolen.

RWD sucks here four seasons. My Volvo wagons, 740 GLE and a cherry 240 I still have, were/are pretty dope in the snow dudes because into Sweden

It does have an Awoooo hole like that. We are skiers but the 4Runner gets us to the mountains atm

These digits don't lie

Listen sweeties, you own the car, it doesn't own you. Just like your chick, she does and looks the way YOU want. You fill me dawgs? I thought this place was about "auto" not auto larping.

Used Avalons are specifically a way to get "the most car" for 10k. Buying it new completely defeats the point.

while i wouldnt buy this new, it's a great car for its value. enjoy your years of worry-free, cruising in absolute comfort.

My dad has one of these but it's a double cab.
Bought it 11 years ago and it currently has 300 thousand miles.
I was genuinely surprised when he told me that it has been rather reliable.
He owns an construction company and the thing's been beat to shit.
The lights are broken the interior smells like old tools and sweaty men, it looks like a scrapyard peice - but it works well and it's still being used for some rather "taxing" purposes.
Last time i saw the thing was when he delivered a ton of logs for heating 2 weeks ago and it looked good. It definitely made me respect Poo-In-Loo made cars a lot more than before.

I hear there is holes in the seats so you can poo whilst driving and it just falls into the designated streets.

That's some smart engineering.

yeah bro I'll fill you, now put that sweet boy ass up

Is this thread full of retards or poorfags? Everyone hating on new so much. I bought my 05' Mustang with 5k on it; it was practically new.

Seriously, what is wrong with new? Just the price? If so then just get jobs, all of you.

To be fair, buying new is a terrible financial decision. It'll depreciate like mad and you have to buy full coverage insurance (and indeed you should since you're fucked sideways if a tree falls on your 30k car or you slip on a patch of ice and smash into someone).

OTOH, if you buy a 3+ year old Lexus then you're saving huge amounts of money and the cars are so well made that they still have over a decade of life left in them.

Nice rigs and I almost bought one in '15.

Did they ever fix that numb steering feel?

Is the current model still feeling floaty in the ass while cornering on shitty asphalt?

Is the interior fit and finish better than the Impala now?

Top or bottom?

They did some tweaks in '15. Were you driving one of those?

It's a little floaty but I plan on a low-key stance.

Steering is a little dead on ctr but not as bad as my '99 A6 was. I had to pull the PS relay it was so bad.

Int. Is definitely above the Impala, had a rental this summer. Seemed like a decent value but I don't do GM, well, not counting my last Saab.

op on suicide watch
nah senpai. good purchase. pisses poorfags off hard

Haven't Toyota been teasing a brand new Avalon for a while?
Oh and if you haven't yet post it on the Veeky Forums to get it on the collage

Sounds like the steering and handling are the same which is a pity because the chassis is capable of a little more sporting, which is one reason I picked up the LTZ Impala when I was shopping in 2015. The interiors for the Avalon had all sorts of weird, non Toyota fitment things going on all over the cabin. After trying out the Cadillac XTS and the Lexus SC350 I didn't see any reason to bother with them once price was factored in.

As far as your original question, you got a nice discount. I got the a couple of Chebby dealers down about 9k on the Impala while the Toyota dealers in my area (western Washington) refused to move more than $500 on MSRP. 65k hard miles later, no regrets.

Nice rig, op
