a fair amount of bugs, like how some quests can permanently rename towns. I like the idea of recruiting units it has, how certain cities like Dhirim, Praven and so forth have unique units. I also like the fief trading you can do, but it's pretty broken if you know what you're doing. You spend more time getting power through sleazy & financial means rather than just fucking storming the place and claiming it.

Yeah, I remember playing it a while back and there was a quest in Rivacheg I was doing to get Boyar Meriga to not hate me so I could build the obligatory Weavery & Dyeworks there, and it was a quest involving spy shit, I think it was the one where you wait and then follow a dude over to the bloke that hired him. But once I actually got the quest and left, Rivacheg was renamed to Stables. It was some weird shit. I'd post an image but it was fucking ages ago and I lost it after I submitted the bug report.

what did you do during the siedge? Did you fight foes at the ladder? Could you press "esc" and check what's difficulty setting (displayed as % in down-right corner)

Yet you haven't told us if you had already changed the difficulty. hint: you must manually change it, otherwise you aren't playing on normal, the default one is the easiest one.

But he did say he was getting rekt earlier, so I don't think difficulty is the culprit here. If I had to bet, I'd say he killed some bandits that got lucky and were lugging around top tier troops as prisoners, and newfriend just doesn't realize it. Just a guess though.

Just start raising the enemy's damage and the number of troops, I suggest you leaving the speed slow until you are completely comfortable with most aspects of the combat.

I don't even have a Facebook, I used my wife's. And she's got all kinds of game related stuff on her page, maybe he just got busy or something, didn't see it. I'll reactivate my account and do it again Monday. Ah, so a combination of low difficulty and heavy troops. Yes it will speed up combat, so do it gradually. Ramp it up once you notice you and your party steam rolling shit, it'll make the game more challenging but manageable. I personally like the "No going back" feature because I'm a notorious save scummer. Makes battles much more tense, and victories much sweeter, especially when I pull something out of my ass.
First play through though? I'd go with the "Allow me to quit without saving," until you get the hang of it.
