Tfw you will never drive an unmarked police car

>tfw you will never drive an unmarked police car
>tfw you will never serve instant justice to those who switch lanes without signaling/drive slow in the left lane/tailgate at high speeds/text and drive

Feels bad man

I wish the police around here actually ticketed drivers for not signaling. All they do is fuck with poor junkies who roll through stop signs around here. If they actually enforced traffic laws around here they'd actually get the dealers but nope fill the jails with the most vulnerable members of society instead. Pussies

>micro rage-quit
Man, I don't need to worry about other drivers when I am in control of my own wheels.

Unmarked police cars are cancer. They should enforce the law with their presence instead of hiding on the side of the road in an obscure american sedan

Just buy a vf evoke and put antennas on it then get eBay police lights that's what I'm doing

>being sorry for druggies

yeah, it actually is as great as you think it is.

>group of guys tailgating us in an unmarked car, flashing his highbeams and honking his horn.

>There were high curbs on either side of the road so he couldn't pass us anyway.

> We slow down even more which probably enraged them.

>Decided to see what they would do if we decided to come to a complete stop.

>Two guys hop out looking all ready to go

>unmarked police car
I literally saw one of these light up behind me two or three days ago and didn't know if it was meant for me or another guy. Followed me for like a solid minute or two and then he took an exit.

Autistic as fuck.

>just get arrested for impersonating a police officer

No they think I'm a cop too

Wow county cops are pieces of shit who knew

People around where I live do that too.
Some teenagers have some old police siren and microphone or whatever and they use to to mess with people. It is incredibly annoying. I've even seen them picking on kids with it.

wouldn't be druggies if there weren't drug dealers

Kek

I may never be a police officer, but I can always demand the same respect as one :^)

No one respects crown vics anymore since they are almost extinct.

Lucky me, I like in a rural county where that's all the forces can afford and the county over where I do my shopping still uses them for county mounty shit, marked and unmarked

TL:DR people still play it safe around a car dressed up like mine

desu I get paranoid because every black charger has the potential to be an unmarked cop car

so yeah lucky you.

You have a very high iq I see

When I was in high school I wanted to be a cop but only one that cruised around in an unmarked car. I want to be able to fuck with assholes and ricers. I don't want to have to go through the police academy or anything though

>speeding a little bit on the highway
>come up to a black charger going well below speed limit
>nothing unusual about his plates
>don't see any lights mounted behind his tinted af windows

Holy shit you're such a fucking faggot.

it's the other way around you retard. The drug dealers don't force you to buy their poison.

>Police

Pick one.

Where the fuck do you live, on another planet? My town doesn't even have a stoplight (and the next town over has one at a 4-way intersection but it's always on blink anyway) and the few police we have are all Chargers.

impoverished african american detected

>He doesn't know about pushers

Drug dealers have friends get into trailer trash social circles and push drugs as something cool that they know how to get. Source: I used to do that for a living.

I see your town has its fucking priorities in order. I bet they paid for those with speeding tickets too.

That just means the trailer trash is too stupid to be above the pushers and would be just as easily swayed by fucking Beanie Baby dolls as they would drugs.

Power tripping over your fellow man may sound fun, but its better to point it towards the real menace: Parking Enforcement Officers.

>LAPD 19 years
>work mostly liason for investigative units from brother State, County and Federal agencies
>Be glorified admin Sgt and tag along and escort early morning warrant searches and raids
>State alphabet agencies have some cool unmarked cars like Silverados and Honda Accords with code 3s.
>Shoot shit outside with DMV Investigator who has his Pontiac Grand Am unmarked double parked next to my slicktop black and white Crown Vic
>Overweight black LA parking enforcement attendant drives by and says we need to move Pontiac
>We tell her politely with ID that we are waiting on a warrant search to finish in office building, and no we are not moving
>she gives us this "NUH UH" look and proceeds to ticket the unmarked investigator's official state work car
>I give her a friendly warning that she's going to regret this, the ticket is written to the "owner" of the car which is CA State
>She tells me not to threaten her doing her job and gets my badge no.
>After writing ticket she proceeds to do an illegal u-turn in the middle of empty Wilshire Blvd (it was 5am)
>Immediately hop in my shop, flip the code 3s and sirens and chase her into a lot
>Get her written up for illegal U, exhibition of speed (I heard her tires squeal) and making a California roll on a red light right turn as she tried to exit the next intersection.
>All points and fine are bilked directly to her personal CA driver's license

This

cops are fucking useless

When someone tailgates you when you're going right above the speed limit, you probably deserve it. Also, his car wasn't insured, so double whammie.

Doing God's work, officer user. What were you rolling in?

next time on my LARP adventure:

>beta uprising: Veeky Forums edition

I wish cops stopped having speed traps and ticketing people only going

This, only reason they should use unmarked cars is to actually pursue a high-threat target.

Reckless driving faggots

Kill yourselves

iktfb. i've seen a black charger pull people over many a time on my work commute. i've never gotten a good look at his plate so i can tell him apart from other chargers

>When someone tailgates you when you're going right above the speed limit
No.
>We slow down even more
>Decided to see what they would do if we decided to come to a complete stop.
Let me repeat, county cops a pieces of shit.

Unmarked cars used for traffic enforcement are cancer.
When did "Protect and Serve" become "Collect and Observe"?
There's a problem when everyone on the road is afraid of a Police car.
How can everyone be doing something wrong?
It's nonsense.

But i do drive an unmarked police car. You can tell its a cop car in the daytime from the front (has a push bumper) but at night you really can't tell. Full time traffic enforcement, mostly just work duis and crashes.

>ama

>he didn't just buy $10 worth of LEDs on Aliexpress

do you ticket people for anything listed in OP's list of offenses?

Do you pull people over for going -10 above the speed limit? Of what percentage of these people do you give a ticket?

>drive a 2001 pickup I've used as a work truck since 2009
>been pulled over and ticketed for speeding on 3 different occasions Paid roughly $600 altogether

>decats it and acts like it's the greatest thing in the world
>street races backroads against his shit ricer friends
>blacked out charger pulls up behind us
>he thinks it's funny to try and """race""" it
>hits +100mph in a 55 with construction
>charger flips on blue lights, friend already has his astroglide out
>cop comes up, asks for license, says nice car, and leaves
Really gets my rocks rumbling, fellas

>When did "Protect and Serve" become "Collect and Observe"?
when you agreed to such treatment when you signed the contract for your drivers license.

I work in a small town with a population of about 10k people, but ~30k commute in for work.
Government records say 90% of their annual budget comes from traffic tickets.

The cops drive Chargers, and a few have Ford Raptors because they can.

>Suburban dipshits opinion on drugs

Imagine sitting there and writing out these cop fantasies littered across this thread.

Embarrassing

>drive a Marquis
>have become completely blind to Crown Vics, even ones with bullbars and lights, and first thought is never "I wonder if that's a cop" but "Hey buddy, wanna sell me your cupholder and exhaust?"

>Anything that doesn't occur within my sphere influence is LARPing

Not the anonLEO you're replying to, but my SoCal CHP buddies have all followed a general rule of 15mph+ for speeding tickets on the freeway, and even then the chances of you getting pulled over for going 75-80mph in a 65 is almost nill at least around here.

You'd be surprised how many LEOs from like the most random obscure agencies post on Veeky Forums, its almost like they are people like you and me. Most are naturally found on /k/ of course.

Unmarked cars, with the exception of some stealth-decal, slick top highway patrol cars, are generally not for traffic stops and usually driven by A) Admin or B) Investigators/Detectives C) Specialized Units (aka gang, drug, etc), which again can be lumped in with B for investigative work.

True unmarked or a slicktop, pushbar, and decals? In California we are specifically barred from traffic enforcement unless the shop we are wheeling in specifically has agency decals on the exterior.

barred from *full* time traffic enforcement, correction

>Police now hide from the public, and only interact with them in order to collect money and to build their database of information on individuals
>Somehow has something to do with drivers licenses

It's plain dangerous for police to be unmarked.
The police need to be a visible and reachable force for the public.
It's also dangerous for people's road behaviors to become so modified around police.
The problem with every single road user being scared of the police is they will all focus on the police when they're near them.
It's also extremely unsafe for police to leave their discos on while at the side of the road. Target fixation isn't just a thing on motorcycles, it is in cars too, which is why you should be looking down the road when you're on the touge, not directly infront of you.
Flashing red and blue lights draw attention, gazes, and even dazzles drivers. Which leads to fairly high roadside accident rates.

Nothing about how the police act fits the "Protect" or "Serve" bit of the motto.
Protecting the community isn't parking behind a bush in an unmarked car watching people do 2mph stop sign rolls to collect revenue.
Protecting the community isn't getting on the highway causing everyone to slam on their bakes causing a speed differential of 20+ mph between segments of traffic causing back ups, accidents, and deaths.

>90% of their annual budget comes from traffic tickets
Is there a speed trap nearby that causes so many tickets? How is this even legal

I've seen Buick SUV's as cop cars in colors like dark red and dark blue. And one time a brown one.

>implying cops ever ticket people for not signalling, driving slowly, or tailgating
>implying any of them want to be bothered with trying to prove a "texting" charge in court

The penalties for texting and driving in Ontario are so severe that it's a guarantee anyone who gets a ticket is taking it to court. It's so fucking hard for the cops to prove it too, that there's a high chance it'll get thrown out.

Scrapped tickets remain on a cop's performance record, and count against them. Most are hesitant to issue tickets for texting because of this. It's the same as low-speed "speeding". If you're 5-10kmh over the limit, and you get a ticket - you'll probably get it thrown out or reduced to such a paltry amount it's not worth the effort. Cops only like to write big fat speeding tickets because they won't get scrapped in most cases (too much revenue at stake, and burden of proof is now on the driver to show they DIDN'T do something wrong).

>riding in left hand lane
>66 in a 65
>doesn't yield to faster traffic, actively slows down
>while being paid by our tax dollars

fuck pigs

But the speed limit is the MAXIMUM speed limit user, you aren't ALLOWED to go faster than that.

As a civilian I have every right to sit in the left lane doing the EXACT posted speed limit and you can't say anything because THAT'S THE LAW.

People have the "right" to do plenty of dickish things and are protected by the law and can stand behind the law. They also have the right to speed too, as long as they understand there is a consequence if they are caught. I have the right to enforce the law for plenty of dumb things I may see every day on a patrol, but it really "serves" nothing, only resentment if it's a something chickenshit like going 10mph over the speed limit or you didn't pause to a full and completely immobile stop at a stop sign in an empty neighborhood.

Thankfully, left-lane pass only laws are becoming more prevalent in the US, mitigating folks like yourself who can't be bothered to stay in the right lane if you're going steady.

>As a civilian I have every right to sit in the left lane doing the EXACT posted speed limit and you can't say anything because THAT'S THE LAW.
Not in my state motherfucker, keep right unless overtaking or turning left is the Law.

I bet it's just a suggestion and not actually enforceable.

So what you're saying is that I need to just go 0.5mph faster than the cars in the right lane and I'm going to be untouchable? And what if the cars in the right lane start changing their speed and going faster? Now I am stuck in the left lane, unable to break the speed limit but also unable to get into the right lane because they have now matched my speed.

I'm trapped user. That's why your laws don't work, they effectively create a situation where someone would be forced to break the law. Speeding is an absolute liability offence, so there would be literally no way to argue against it. You would be forced, by powers beyond your control, to either break the law by speeding or break the law by not overtaking and moving to the right lane.

inb4 you tell me I could just slow down. NEVER.

cops never pull people over unless thier doing 80+ in my state, so forcing the stupid sheep who sit in the far left lane texting on a 5 lane highway to gtfo so we can pass would be great.

>I bet it's just a suggestion and not actually enforceable.
Talking to highway troopers from other states where this glorious law has passed, it is and has been enforced since it passed.

I'm not sure how to respond to this. If the cars in the right lane start changing their speed and going faster while you're on the left... you can go back to the right after they pass? And if they're the ones speeding behind you on the right... it's on them to pass you on the left lane right?

I wrote above that at least in California, Highway Patrol officers generally give you about 15mph of leeway, and I imagine other states at the very least also have a slight grace period for speed to at least account for speedometer and possible tire error, of which 10% is reasonable from what I've heard. No one is going to pull you over for going over the speed limit, except for maybe in Waldo, Florida or along route 50 in Nevada, but that's another conversation altogether.

>Speeding is an absolute liability offence, so there would be literally no way to argue against it.
When did you get your driver's license? Are you this new to driving? Police are defeated on a regular basis for having errors or the defendant successfully arguing the circumstances in which they were going over the speed limit (this happens way more often than you'd think).

>15mph leeway

Leaf here, we're lucky if we get 10kmh leeway. Fucking cunt pigs.

At least we're not bongs

>average speed cameras
>ticket you for literally 2-3mph overage

AFAIK, absolute liability offences technically have no legal defense. You either did it or you didn't do it, it's not the same as strict liability. Tickets are often thrown out because of a PROCEDURAL error made by a police officer (i.e. they fucked up the ticket by putting the wrong date/time/location/etc.).

Maybe it's different in the U.S., but in Canada you cannot go to court and have a speeding ticket thrown out because "I was driving my wife to the hospital to give birth". They literally do not give a single fraction of a fuck, you would still get the ticket (if there were ever a cop cunty enough to write you a ticket for that, which there certainly are).

>sister starts experiencing severe stomach pain
>no idea why
>she asks her boyfriend (at the time) to drive her to hospital
>he does, floors it the whole way
>fucking cop pulls him over 3 minutes from hospital
>he gets out and starts shouting that he's on his way to hospital
>cop flips and screams at him to get back in car
>lectures him for 5 minutes even though he can see my sister is in pain, thinks they're "faking it" to get out of a ticket
>lectures them some more, then lets them off with a "warning"
>proceeds to hospital, sister's appendix was inflamed and close to bursting
>they talked to doctors about this afterwards, told them about cop
>doctors said they've heard it before, cops go to court about those tickets and the Justice of the Peace says "you should've called an ambulance, you don't have the right to break laws and you're not trained to drive at high speeds in traffic"

>report this to Staff Sgt, then eventually Chief
>they tell us "we'll handle it internally, he will be subject to discipline"
>never heard another word about it from anyone

Should've recorded the traffic stop I guess.

Most of my tickets are speeding, following too close, and if youre dui, anything i can find in the book
I dont bother with anything less than 20 over for a ticket but if i stop you 99% chance youre getting the ticket at whatever speed i got you at.
I work in florida. No markings. Only exterior giveaways on the car is the push bumper, spot light, and sheriff tag. Tinted windows so you cant see too much inside the car. My only job is traffic. My assignment is DUI enforcement.

>99% chance youre getting the ticket at whatever speed i got you at.

Dick, don't you realize that reducing a ticket is a better way to maintain a higher conviction rate?

I've received three speeding tickets ever. First one was reduced from 37 over to 15 so I just paid it, didn't fight it. Second was for 25 over, cop refused to reduce it. I went to court, cop didn't calibrate his radar before shift so ticket got thrown out. If he'd reduced it I probably would've just paid it.

>third ticket, 5 years after my second ticket was thrown out
>doing 22 over, clear and empty roads
>cop writes ticket for 22 over, is a total dick and talks down to me
>even says to me "if you wanna fight this, don't worry I'll be there"
>send notice that I'm intending to fight ticket
>get court date
>I cancel, tell them it's an emergency, they reschedule for 3 months later
>I cancel again, tell them it's another medical emergency (grandma was in the hospital, so I had legit proof if they wanted it)
>get third court date set
>guess what
>I cancel it again, wasting dickhead's time for months on end
>eventually they tell me I can't keep rescheduling it
>get fourth date set, my trial is at the end of the day
>cop doesn't show up, figures I'll just cancel again
>TICKET GETS THROWN OUT BECAUSE DICKHEAD DOESN'T SHOW UP

Kek

Yeah, im a traffic unit so im in traffic court all the time so challenging me in court doesnt mean anything. Havent lost a speeding case yet in 10 years. Just more money for me. And my equipment is good to go.

>KEK

>traffic unit

Literally bottom of the barrel tier cop. You're like a notch above pedophiles.

fuck my life i always wanted to be policeman or soldier in special forces i might join ffl however

yeah good idea just send FFL your resume they usually accept people like you off the street

Butthurt flowing now

i'll be objective here: literally wat

who would be jealous of a traffic cop?

maybe some cool SWAT guy, but not some chubster who writes tickets all day, that's basically like being a meter maid

>thinking an actual cop is posting on Veeky Forums

The only ones who post here are from the FBI and they're not looking for speeders

CHiPs back in the day had dedicated unmarked same way for traffic enforcement however if I recall correctly it was successfully challenged in CA so that any duty dedicated for traffic enforcement must be conducted in a vehicle with corresponding LE agency's identification. Must be something surprising motherfuckers in Florida when you turn on the fun lights.

Impressive. Really haven't lost one in ten years at all? You guys got your shit locked down tight. I had some pretty funny shutdowns from my officers coming back from traffic court when I worked as a patrol sgt. The defendants were usually some smart ass or law student working their mouths.

LAPDanon here. Traffic can easily be one of the most dangerous duties you can do, and some of these fuckers out in the boonies have no backup for miles, sometimes half an hour to an hour out. Its always funny to make fun of the ticketing part, but you work for a living when it suddenly becomes a violent felony stop and you're yelling for assistance on the rover.

Why does anybody need to be jealous over your job as long as you do yours well and find satisfaction in it? Whether you're a straight laced corrections worker, a sheriff's deputy in the boonies, or some statie out on some long desert highway, they're all on the same side and seasoned LEOs are super chill about what their counterparts from other places do.

Call down Trayvon.

>be /britbong/

I bet you wear dress shoes with your bullet proof vest.

Fuck you reminded me I have to pay $500 in court costs from the ticket clinic by the end of the month.
At least I didn't get any points

Uh no duh.

>Why does anybody need to be jealous over your job as long as you do yours well and find satisfaction in it

Nobody is jealous of traffic cops. On the 3 occasions I've been pulled over all 3 of the fat cunts berated me, tried to lecture me, and wasted my time. Apparently being polite and respectful doesn't mean shit when you're young and ride a sport bike, so fuck traffic cops.

You're probably a lawless prick that trespasses and try's to open people door's "to check for safety because I heard something" and shoot's their dog for guarding the house.

You wouldn't happen to be a sovereign citizen would you?

I'm surprised that not a lot of people know how to spot these fuckers.

They always have the hockey puck antennas on the trunk, or it's a cylinder on the Explorers

No.
Is a true story, except my dog was inside and the house was locked. There are no trespassing signs for a reason, not that you'd know how to respect anyone but yourself.

I havent lost a speeding case ever. Ive lost plenty of cases. Usually crashes that i didnt witness. Policy is to write the ticket so i do but the judge chucks em if the other driver doesnt show as a witness.

Sport bikes are the 1% i give a break to. If they stop i dont write them for the 30+ over they were doing. Usually write them for 9 over.

For those interested this has not been my only assignment. I used to be on swat and before that aviation. I wanted k9 but i do not live in the jurisdiction i work so they wont let me have a dog.

>On the 3 occasions I've been pulled
What you get pulled over for?

Well don't be degenerate and don't keep dangerous animals and you shouldn't have a problem in the future.

This is true. I forgot my car even had it there. Its on my trunk.

Lawless. They should take your badge. This is why State Trooper's call you guys a joke.

Honestly it makes me not want to stop. 2/3 occasions I could've easily ran and they never would've been able to catch me, but I'm not a piece of shit so I stop. Not fun being treated like I am by these guys. I will say that 1 guy knocked the speed down from 20+ to 11 over, but that was after taking down to me for 15 minutes. I was only doing around 10 over the other two times anyway and still got pulled.

What do you think?

So you got pulled over 3 times for speeding on a sport bike. You got scolded and you got butthurt. Gee, welcome to life kid, but here's the good news. We all know where you're coming from, as we all once had inflated egos like you did when we were younger. As you get older, you'll learn that America isn't a country where you should have the right to do what you want without consequence, but instead its a place where you have the right to fulfill the consequence of your actions according to your judgement. Sometimes we get away with it, sometimes we don't. Some just stop, and of course many of us just get better at not getting caught.

Isn't that illegal?

>Blue LEDs
Very yes

I'm not mad about the tickets, I was speeding, fine. As much as I think most speeding tickets are nothing but shameless revenue generation, they're still a thing. My point was that they should write the ticket and fuck off instead of wasting my time trying to lecture me. Don't project your own attitude on me.

Agreed. There would be less deaths if everyone followed the speed limit and kept a safe following distance.

If you're young or mentally vulnerable I'm sure it would be REALLY easy for a 'pusher' to get you to try something

Agreed, so long as that we all agree the speed limit is an arbitrary maximum for the lowest common denominator and that I could stop on a dime, whereas ladasha in her balding all-seasons with clapped out brake pads and shocks needs 3 lanes and a mile to stop safely.

>My point was that they should write the ticket and fuck off instead of wasting my time trying to lecture me
That's still part of the consequence dipshit. Fair? Of course no. They should just write it and fuck off. You're still an egotistic brat for getting mad about that, it was still your actions that brought about that waste of time and most likely your defensive horseshit that got the bored officer to give you an extra earful.
