That's basically the plan if we ever need to spawn some autopilots. Though it'll probably be less random now compared to just pulling the teams out of the hat since we have a bit of data from the survey we could use to guess at which teams would be good choices for autopilots.

I don't see how all 5 of the teams listed there don't come back, either as autopilot or managed. I know that at least 4 of them have had people express interest today.

Of course. Looking at what a team has already is part of what we'd consider. The Spring 15 autopilot rules I wrote had a part in them about favouring teams with recent board interaction but in the end straight pulled from the hat is how ye olde /merit/ decided on doing things.

The survey is pretty far from being a perfect source so we'd rather see something gathered from the boards themselves if teams are going to be entering the Cup that way.
