I did have an NXR (can't remember other market names) but my dad recently got one and I really liked it when I tried it on, just felt like a cushier, roomier version of my helmet, which was a bit more race oriented in design.

Where did the meme that lower CC bikes weigh less and handle better come from? A ninja 300 is within 20-40 lbs of a literpeter, most 6-700cc twins weigh as much or more than one. Not to mention they have garbage budget suspension and frame design, and skinny wheels that you can only buy shitty commuter rubber for. Aside from a few rare smol bikes (MC22, 400cc supersports, RS250) most low cc bikes would get spanked up and down any touge by any real supersport.

Oh sorry. I'm always stupidly tired, have been for years a few years now and it makes my day job as a sheet metal fabricator very difficult. Fortunately I work for my parents so I can have time off to recover but I don't get paid when I do, and I have a lot of finances to cover so not getting paid means the debt racks up pretty quickly.

I suffer from quite bad anxiety and depression as it is, which I'm on meds for, but that situation isn't really helping things. I have very little motivation to do much these days because of it, getting out of bed to brush my teeth or having a shower is like running a marathon sometimes.

You'll be okay my dude, I went from CBR125 to CBR500 to Tuono 1100RR in 2 years. Ride the Duke regularly for a week or two and don't push beyond your limits and you'll feel at home on it pretty quickly.

Hnnnngg m8. Yeah I spent about 3 years going up in bikes due to eurocuck laws. I've been looking at a tuono 1100 but I'm afraid it's not the hoonbike I want even though it looks and sounds like pure sex. I ride alot in city environments and the hueg torks and high handlebar of the dorso came in handy when filtering and shit. The abysmal fuel tank is a bummer though, 10-11 liters max

Dude it's an animal, you can wheelie it just about any time you want, I've had it flat out in 4th at about 140, hit a bump and had a sizeable wheelie on my hands. I don't spend much time on the rear wheel.

That being said, you do get more torx with the Duke lower down so it'd still be more of a hoon machine than the Ape, but the Ape is still a total hoon machine.

A Ninja 250 might not be that much lighter, but it feels much easier to ride fast and push the limit. But it's true, when people talk about 250s beating 600s, they're really talking about the difference in rider skill, which has nothing to do with the bike itself.

Put that kind of exhaust on it, my Tuono has the Pro Race GP which you can see here: And it sounds just like that.

Be warned though exhausts for the Tuono are heinously expensive.

Which type of bike sustains the least damage from being lowsided on pavement? I'm looking for a fun bike in the twisties that I won't feel too bad about crashing (I've had to pay a few hundred euro to replace fairings on my ADV bike, I'd rather not do that again). I was thinking maybe a supermoto or naked bike, since there's no fairings to scratch, but on the other hand, if I put cheap or damaged fairings on a sportbike, they would protect the rest of the bike. Which do you think is better?

You already answered your own question, supermotos and naked as there's less body work to damage. Even better if crash protection is fitted.

desu senpai if you dont ride it like a squid it’s really not intimidating, it’s got plenty of low end torque that you really don’t have to redline it like those i4 fagets constantly. you can just cruise with it around town at low rpm and know that with a flick of a wrist it can damn near rip your ass off that seat like a soyboy, plus with the traction control modes it will help save you from yourself

KEK Holy shit this is a retarded thing to say. No a 650 will not do everything a 1000 will do but better. You are high as fuck. Also a 650 twin often DOES NOT WEIGH LESS. A modern liter weighs between 430-458lbs curb weight. The twins weigh between 404-476lbs curb. Even a Honda 500x weighs like 430lbs. The twin that weighs 404 does not offer any wind protection and runs mid 12 second quarter and tops out at like 127mph and has(by comparison) a budget bin chassis, suspension, dash, electronics (including many options not even available), and brakes when compared to the liters. It offers better mpg but at the tradeoff of the size of the fuel tank so range is still similar. (which is also why it weighs less wet vs wet) The 650 twins are a much lower spec level bike, which is fine for what they are.

I'm in the process of coming off of mine, but I'm gonna stay on them a while longer until the weather picks up, winter just makes me miserable. I'm on a lower than usual dose tho.

I'm miserable most of the time though, very irritable and whatnot. Luckily I don't have any friends to push away so there's that, but my gf is super supportive.

Unlike cars, the rider's weight and cargo figure more heavily.

A heavier machine is harder to control. A lighter rider is less able to control a heavier machine.

In the motorcycle world, most close competitors in a category compete very closely, like they copy each other's specs and then look to design around their patents. All day, everyday, not like the car world, manufacturers size up their competition and size each other up, and unleash a basically identical product.

Also, the performance gap between 250/600/1000+ bikes isn't as steep as you might think. 0-60 in 8/5/4 seconds, to be very general.

Honestly the 750 is 95% as fast as the 1000, so if you're afraid of a 1000 the 750 isn't really your answer. A faster 600 in the 115-130hp range might be a better answer.

Older low capacity bikes used to be built to the same standard as the bigger bikes, so they were basically just small proportioned big bikes and handles well and were surprisingly fast for their size (read still a lot slower than bigger bikes).

Now smaller bikes are built on a budget because they're marketed at teenagers, so they're made with heavier steel frames rather than nicer aluminium frames like your pic related, and weak engines to meet emissions and licensing regulations.

Also totally depending on the engine. A 1200cc Sportster will get smoked by a 600cc Jap sportsbike all day forever.

I can focus, and I've never had any problems riding, but when it comes to focusing on intricacies like maths, and in my engineering job working out measurements and angles and stuff, I just really struggle whereas I used to be fine.

Thankfully my riding has come out unscathed, though I did start riding when I was on meds so I've known no different.

It's been the same shit for 3 years now, I'm fully aware it isn't gonna change. Hopefully coming off of the meds helps a little bit.

Why is everyone in this thread so retarded? Before you can even compare 1000s to 650s, you have to decide what type of motorcycle you're actually talking about, comparing a SS I4 literpeter to a V twin sport touring 650 makes zero sense.

You consider 12.5'ish second quarter mile and top speed under 130mph to be "marginally" different to the 9's second quarter and top speed in excess of 180 of a literpeter? Liters trap 140's-150's in the quarter mile while the top speed of the 650 twins is 20+mph under that and trap around 106-108mph or so. The 0-60mph times are significantly quicker for the 1000's. Not marginally. Significantly. Trapping over 40mph in the quarter difference with like 60mph more top end. 9's vs 12's. It's not even close.

THAT is NOT marginal. And to say that you would take a 650 over a 1000cc in twisties is also just optimistic to the point of making me laugh. Dude, superbikes were MADE for twisties.
