Crossovers are a mistake

Are you implying you wouldn't want to drive this beauty?

FUCK that car.
t. battery tech

The market is saturated with mid-sized and economy shitboxes so in general no, for Ford? it just means people will buy a crossover or taurus if they really want a sedan.

also calling it now China will be an unstoppable super power and the united states will be
indirectly taking orders from them in about 2050 once our economy bleeds out and they can just start buying america itself.

This is the quintessential mall crawling crossover, brings me to dry heaves every time I even consider driving them

For me its the Buick Enclave.

The Model E range is going to include a crossover and sedan. Both vehicles will have a pure EV and hybrid option. Ford probably figures they don't two different mid sized sedans so they're axing the Fusion and will be putting the Model E sedan in it's place. It won't really be a big difference. The Fusion is already made in Mexico and the Model E will be as well. It just means you won't be able to get a non-electrified mid sized sedan from Ford anymore.

...

Taurus is dead in North Maerica
Sedans are going extinct by 2025

Yea I read they most likely will discontinue the Taurus as well. It never took off as a cop car or a cab either. I don't know why Ford didn't plan to have a vehicle to replace the Panther platform.

thats a Mondeo not a Fusion you moron

It's the same car as of 2013 you troglodyte

Yes fwd bias suvs are easily the worst cars I've seen since the 76-80s smoll shitbox craze fuel crisis

>Heavy
>Slow
>Fuel economy shit irl
>Shit handling
>Overpriced
>factory liftkitted
>sedanwagons
>Interior space in smaller SUVs is still dogshit
>High center of gravity
>Literally driven by the dumbest of the dumb normie scum always driving too slow looking at their phones infotainment crap talking to their annoying passengers
>Consistently distracted 99.99% of the time
If I could legally get SUVs and softroaders banned from public roads I would

yes
and I fucking own one
SUV's are garbage cars only bought because it lets their shit tier drivers survive the crash they are going to invenentably cause.

Lol you wanna know what's worse ?

Small displacement turbo diesel SUVs fucking christ at least the horrible highly strung Chinese clattering engines alert me to a retards presense

>tech

My official job title is service technician whether anyone disagrees with it or not.

Eh, the requirements to be called an automotive technician are about as loose as a 10 year old harbor freight ratchet.

if you have at least one tool that works on a car you are a tech.

>Ford killing the Mondeo
Jesus
Britain used to run on Ford Mondeos, literally every rep or travelling businessman in the country used one.

>reading comprehension

They are going to discontinue the Fusion in North America

The Fusion is a Mondeo.

>The automaker has begun informing suppliers that it will not build the next-generation Fusion at its plant in Hermosillo, Mexico, where the car is currently made
>“We have no plans to export the next-generation Fusion/Mondeo from China to North America and Europe,” Ford said in an emailed statement. “Fusion / Mondeo are an important part of the Ford car lineup. We will have more information to share about the next Fusion/Mondeo at a later date.”
Guys, reading comprehension. They'll just start making it somewhere else, preferably in the US. I really doubt they'll drop out of the midsize sedan market just because they aren't in the top 3 there right now, because they can still make good money out of them, and it keeps the brand competitive. In fact, I'mm willing to bet sales are down because Fusions are everywhere on the used market for people to buy, and they haven't changed the look of the car in 6 years, so new buyers are getting tired of it because they likely already had a 2 year lease on it at one point.

You work for Ford?

No, just a shop that does all makes

They actually drive pretty nice. Plus you can get it with more HP than a Toyobaru

>it never took off as a cop car
Better not tell that to all of the cops driving them everywhere

I've seen some of them, but not as common as the Crown Vic was.

usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2017/06/19/nations-most-popular-police-car-now-suv/103006874/

>still a Taurus but with a different body

Granted, the explorer is much more common, because cops like cargo space too, the Taurus is still much more common than the Caprice or Charger (if the interceptor is even still sold). In my area, they’re the only car the state troopers use. Cops usually use them as undercover cars.

How do vehicles like this get designed. Is there really a team of artist that created this? I don't think i'm hot shit but I spent a good few minutes following each line of the car into where it inevitable fucks up and now i'm upset.

Ford (in murica) is going to stop productions on their sedans. And focus more on crossovers/CUVS, SUVS and Trucks.

The only car present will be the Mustang and GT.

They're only discontinuing the platform in North America, not Europe.

>The only car present will be the Mustang and GT.
And you can expect the Mustang to go away.

It already shares little with any other Ford product and making one-off cars is not a game Ford plays for very long. I'm actually surprised they've put up with it this long.
