>$2k for an aftermarket clutch >$2.5k for cam and valvetrain upgrade >$2k for long tube headers All of these were installed by a shop >$500 on steel brake lines, oil pump, and misc other things >only paid down $3k of the 15k loan for the car future poorfag coming through
I know I'm a pleb for not doing the cams and headers myself, but I don't care
I love the "thrifty" people on here I finance my car at 2% interest because I don't want to take the entire amount out of my bank all at once. So I have more room for whatever else I want to do for the year. Yeah I finance a 25k car while I make more than 100k a year
Dominic Flores
I have a low APR loan and I make enough to pay it off within a year, so I don't really care
Anyways, the cams and headers were only done because the harmonic balancer on my C5 went bad and you have to remove the steering rack and other shit to replace it, which is about $1000 in labor for an $80 pulley. It's only a few more steps to do a cam, so I went with it
Adrian Evans
>So I have more room for whatever else I want to do for the year

Oh no those criminal jews made 1500 dollars off me over the course of 4 years!
Goodnthing i took a lump of money out of my bank account to buy a car cash to show them a lesson!
Xavier Nelson
I think I paid like 2k for this. Yes, I'm an idiot.
Brandon Nguyen
>tuneable EMS, 1000cc injectors, BOV, fuel pump, intake etc $5000 >garrett turbo $2300 >full exhaust from the head to the tailpipe $1000 >Wilwood big brake kit $2500 >adjustable coilovers $1300 >Wheels and tires >$2000 >ring and pinion swap $1000 (the r&p alone was $650) >upgraded clutch and flywheel $700 >Having the fastest Miata within 15 miles Priceless At least I bought my shit with cash and the car was paid off OP you dumbass.

2k for a tune? Or what else did you do?
Carter Brown
I'm not going to say EXACTLY how much but lets say I could've bought my 17 mustang straight cash.
Nathaniel Campbell
Kek it's because this guy the next town over has a built engine and like 380 whp on his miata.
Dylan Foster
why not just 2jz swap? more power reliably for less money?
Alexander Ramirez
Tune, turboback exhaust, intake, intercooler. Dyno'd about 35whp/47wtrq higher than it did stock. Also got a rear motor mount, gas pedal extension, short shifter, shifter bushings, stickier tires, and exhaust hangars. Funny thing is, the cheapest mods (bushings/hangars/extender) had the greatest effect on my enjoyment. I'd probably just get those and a $500 tune if I could do it all over again.
Jeremiah Stewart
Nice trips amigo. Well, I feel like you lose something with an engine swapped miata. The power plant frame is part of the magic. I do really like the Jag V six that some people have done, or a really well done LS3, maybe a K swap would be cool. To me it seems like such a headache though.
Mason Adams
Sticky tires can have the opposite effect than you would expect on the fun factor. A car is only fun at its limit.
Christopher Williams
fair enough user i can respect it, at least your using quality parts:D is it still stock connecting rods?
Lincoln Reed
Oh no!! Don't fall for the Jewish tricks like investing that money and make 2x/3x the cost of interest back by the time you pay it off!!!!!
Isaac Harris
Yeah, haven't touched the motor. Makes a very reliable 255hp at the wheels. Can't go much higher without pulling the motor apart. It's been rock solid though, zero issues in 10,000 abusive miles. Autocrossed a couple times too. It's a Mazdaspeed Miata so it's got chassis bracing and a stronger gearbox, better bushings and other upgrades.

>gas pedal extension >shorter shifter >drives a Furd Fiesta

>pedal extension So I can heel-toe because the stock placement is a good 4 inches behind the brake pedal >short shifter You realize this doesn't make the shifter physically shorter right?

1989 GMC R3500. Would like to get Vortec heads and a cam in the future, but I have to put that off for a while because I just bought another identical truck with a hydraulic box and a blown engine.
