BMW S85

Is this the best sounding production car engine of all time? Hard to believe this engine was actually used in big luxury sedans and wagons.
Its inspired and named after the most powerful F1 engine of all time - BMW P85

I swear famalam yamaha needs to make sports cars by themselves or atleast offer their engines in crates. Even the yamaha v8 in the volvo s80 is amazing

No real contest, engine sound tuned by Yamaha

honestly that sounds exactly the same as op video

To untrained ears yes. But for Engine Audiophiles like myself, there is a world of difference, the lexus revs to 9k, you could play some Beethoven with it

I mean there's the Carrera GT's V10, which was originally developed for use in F1, got shelved, then put in an endurance prototype that was never fielded, got shelved again, and finally found its way onto the street in the CGT.

Rev limiter is at 9.5k. Absolutely insane.

best sounding V8 and therefore best sounding engine pic related

605hp@9000rpm

>muh 9000

So? The 458 does that too.

Am I the only one who doesn't like f1 and v10 sounds?
Its just high pitched squealing.
I much prefer BOV that sounds like thunder and 4 rotors. While not as refined as the perfection of v10 that is in LFA this one has a lot more character and earthy rumble

Revlets never learn.

I personally love the sound of F1 V12 Ferraris of the 90's

Double-reject motor.

Not a production engine.

When you understand that that it all comes down to stroke and fixing valve float and it has nothing to do with pretty much anything else. It just makes for a better sound.

>458 does that to

Yeah? You're making it sound like the 458 is a corolla or something

it revs very well

>Am I the only one who doesn't like f1 and v10 sounds?
Nah. I'm kind of there with you, too.

When I was younger I thought they were pretty exciting. As I grew older, though, I started referring the sound of a V8. At low rpm, they were had a low growl and as they revved up it became that nice E-string sound.
