What do you guys think of this PT Cruiser? It has leather seats and a stick shift instead of a shitty DCX slushbox.

It's still a fat Neon in a silly outfit, but if it's in good shape and it suits your needs go test drive it.
I see the ford taurus for days with low miles and pretty cheap. Are they good cars?
what year?
Usually the early to mid 2000s. They are all over my craigslist.
If you're thinking 3rd/4th gen, the rear suspension is always btfo, and in the salt belt they've all rusted out by now.
that whole generation is rear drum brakes, so kinda meh.
a decent beater if you can find it without rust or sagging
rear drum brakes literally doesn't matter for a shitbox
working on them does
Anyone rec me a cheap car for a student, preferably a coupe, with decent performance? I want something german, but it might not be reliable in the long run, but I dont want an american or japanese 'meh' machine
literally on the first page
orlando.craigslist.org
>cheap car for a student
Thanks, but maybe I should've specified a price? Under 4-5k
siouxfalls.craigslist.org
Not sure if Rice or Nice
Green Lights
>5 speed
>Leather seats
>~100k odo (barely)
>Clean paint, no rust
>Stored indoors
Red Lights
>Double barrel muffler
>After market fog lights
>JVC in-dash DVD (not hooked up even)
>Asking $500ish over book price
>"Bryce"
No mention of engine mods and no rimz or stance, but even in such clean condition $2500 seems steep.
If you're looking at one it's always a good idea to pull the back seat and check the strut mounts. My '96 from Iowa is still kinda solid, but that's what will take it out. I paid $400 for it 7 years ago so it doesn't owe me anything.
Not Craigslist, but close enough.

100% MUST be stolen
Or it's just a scam ad.

Is this thing a lost cause? I really want a turbo mk3 but i dont want to have to buy an r154 for a non turbo one
Which of you guys is this?!
losangeles.craigslist.org
I sympathise with the doggo, that was a nice Jeep.
This Jag gives me a raging boner but then i lose it when i remember how poor i am and wouldn't be able to afford to maintain it, HNNGGG
appleton.craigslist.org
Holy fuck it's such a sexy car.
On a more serious note. I'm not a huge fan of Fords but i feel like this little guy would last a year or two with little to no issues. Would really rather something with a v6 though..
appleton.craigslist.org
S430 mercedes for under 4 grand, '04, its a sedan but its rwd with a decent 8-banger.
Talk him down to 3500 if the odometer is past 100k, 3250 if the odometer is past 150k
Hi everyone! I'm looking to get a Suzuki samurai. Not as a DD but bbq for going 4 wheeling and occasionally go to work in a snow storm.
denver.craigslist.org
I was looking at this one but I'm a bit worried because it's rebuilt from salvage. What do you guys think?
If it's got valid plates and tags then it's been issued a "rebuilt from salvage" title which means that the state of Colorado thinks it's roadworthy, but I don't personally know how thorough the Colorado inspections are.
What I would do is ask to see all the paperwork and find out why it was written off and who rebuilt it.
If it was written off from a major collision and/or it wasn't rebuilt by a professional shop I would pass on it.
Been looking at sub-3k Volvos lately, what would you guys recommend?
It's between 3 wagons: a V70, an V40, and an XC70.
Bonus: 2003 Saab 9-5 Wagon with manual transmission.
All of these are less than $2,400.
Test drive all of them and buy the one you like/that's in the best shape.
I found an early 2000s wrangler for $2k, it runs and looks clean, most similar wranglers I see are $8k, this has to be a scam of some sort right?
Most definitely, I assume it's manual too?
If so, 100% red flag.
Automatic. It's also 48k miles which is unbelievable.
santabarbara.craigslist.org
If it's a stupidly low price, only one picture and a no details other than "drives great!" or "like new!" it's a scam ad.
I wouldn’t go for it.
>Only one low resolution photo
Yup, scam.
redding.craigslist.org
Gunna try talking him down to 1350. Whatcha droogs think?
Have you driven it yet?

Not on Craigslist but how dumb would I be to buy a very clean 2001 Audi with 100k miles for 6000? It's V6 and manual.
Not pic related, but it looks exactly like it
Thoughts? Will be buying this car through an uncle and shipping it in a month, worth it?
losangeles.craigslist.org
At 100k, it should be at most 4000.
Anything else is overpaying.
So how well have first gen insights held up? For a cheap commuter car it doesn't look bad, and it's not like I'm expecting any sort of speed from it either
A blast with stick shift.
Did you know it shares it's cockpit with the S2000? Food for thought.
Never would have expected that
I'm just looking for a smaller car thats good on gas, an crx's have weirdly high resale in comparison still, I'll keep my eye out for one
atlanta.craigslist.org
What price should I offer and should I buy it as a first car. No "durr 4cyl faggot" posts. M42>M20.
$3,500 and yes, it would be a good learning curve if you decide to wrench on it yourself.
I was thinking $5k, that seems unreasonable, no? These cars are appreciating like crazy
Not really, 5k is what it should go for max.
That's nice, I'm jealous. Try to talk him down maybe with the odo being 150k. Not sure I'm not good at that.
Bump for this, wanna know how reliable these are.

Check out this lil guy
Thoughts on this miat?

200sx for sale need thoughts. says original 13000 miles only
elpaso.craigslist.org
13k miles huh? These are nice cars you really want the 200sx se-r with original manual transmission. That low mileage is fishy to me there are scumbags out there
It is an se-r. Fff very nice
Shame it's an auto.
I'd get it regardless desu, 13k miles is great**.
**if not tampered with
Coworker is selling a 2006 E320 for 10k with 74k miles. You guys think it's worth it if everything checks out?
Service records are everything, ask him for the VIN too.
Also talk it down to 6k.
9500 is the lowest he'll go
seems like a good deal too me

It's not a 325i but am I ever going to find a running good condition non modded E30 for $2500 anywhere else??
>Did you know it shares it's cockpit with the S2000? Food for thought.
But those aren't the same at all
>those bumpers

Is automatic really that much of a dealbreaker?
>car has idle problem
>just needs a new battery
>with 220k miles
I do not trust this senpai
sanantonio.craigslist.org
should i, Veeky Forums?
this is ridiculous. Probly too good to be true but talk to them and see what comes of it. Bail at the sign of BS.
Which engine do you guys think this is for, the 4 banger or the 5.0?
eastnc.craigslist.org
what do you guys think of this, looking to buy my first car
vancouver.craigslist.ca
>needs motor
Are you able to do an engine swap for your first car?
I have the money, but I haven't ever worked on a car before. Is it worth the hassle?
Will it be an LS? If yes, go for it. If not, don't bother.
It is doable but it still is a big hassle that will take time, and you're going to have a tough time getting an engine to your house to begin with without a running car.
I think it's worth doing as a project since the rest of the car is good condition but you should probably get a running beater to actually drive with in the meantime
Dont listen to this meme, if you want to get a better motor get a 2ZZ, it's a celica motor that will be a lot easier to drop in
>I haven't worked on a car before
No
Dont listen to this meme either, just fix the stock engine. Maybe all you need to replace is the rod bearings by removing the oil pan. Maybe you need a complete bottom end rebuild. Who knows. Could be a good learning project. But still
Never buy this, or any A4/A6 of that vintage. Just really, never do that
In fact, never buy an Audi again!
Finding one of these with a manual is not very easy, so calling it a dealbreaker is dumb. You will find more E34 535s with manual and the same undedable engine.
I'm guessing they're even harder to come by in NA, pretty bad in Europe at least.
Srsly though, unless you got a big hard-on for E32s i suggest you get a E38 and a multimeter
I don't understand how someone could've abused a car this badly. The interior is 100% fucked, using it for "parts" must be the meme of the century. I mean it does look good for rust but that probably adds about $0 in value in Texas.
Very cool to see a '91 without the passenger airbag in the dash though, plus huge bonus with the manual. The gearbox, slave cylinder, pedal set etc is well worth the $400 alone
wew
hmmm
Thanks guys, I guess I'll get it.
I personally was never a fan of 240s
