What they should do is transfer mass from the torsos to the arms so they can act better as shields, and maybe the legs, too.
That would alleviate the torso size problem, while making the jewziel more durable overall.

At least add lmgs to the ams torso hardpoints so you can disarm and destroy quicker.
With 1 ton of ammo, which is all you'll ever need, the total 1.5 ton investment is deffo worth

Never put any points into Jump Jets, Operations or Sensor Systems.

Put rest of the points into Firepower and Consumables however you see fit.

Why on earth are Snub PPCs under the same ghost heat as normal PPCs.

Its like PGI hates fun and balance

Nowhere near as much as heat gen from firepower and cool shots from consumables

Also, assuming you have 20 heatsinks, Operations will give you extra dissipation equivalent to 2 more heatsinks. A lot of laser vomit builds don't even have 20 heatsinks.

It's just not worth it.

It's main strength, at least on the clan side, is that it's somewhat pinpoint and you can fire two at once, this is still true to IS, but you've got better options due to pinpoint ballistics, and the crit slot investment makes it mandatory in a side torso, which also makes it impossible to use an LFE.
