DED

What was that dude about, locking corpses?

>7 hours in a tank.
>Took down 5 enemy tanks and 3 enemy half-track.

God damn that was a great run.

Am I the only one who thinks that half the players you see have no damn clue how to storm a position and kill a foxhole? In a group of 12, I was the only one who even brought grenades.

its even worse when the enemy team knows what they are doing.

I wish they would let bodies lay around long enough for us to turn into makeshift cover in the event we got no resources left to make even the most basic form of cover.

My biggest gripe though is all the resources that get wasted building greatbighuge walls around places miles from the front line, when a couple of foxholes would do the job of seeing off raiders! Those are materials that could be used to help at the front, if anyone ever figured out what was needed where!

And don't get me started on the fuckboys that store materials in the town halls. You know who you are, assholes! It takes forever to get those things out again!

We ded during Euro time. Murri strong in the game.

my biggest gripe is people building wall in general.
99% of the time walls built just end up as cover for the advancing enemy. Not only that but they'll blow holes in the opposite ends of the one in the center and get a cross fire going.

I'd be playing right now, but all the servers are either full (especially campaign only having one map up) or fucking dead. Bigger servers soon I hope. Can't wait until the battles are like, 200 a side.

>when a couple of foxholes would do the job
Not really. You need at least wall+tower combo and someone on top of the radio to see what's up. If odd place is lit for too long you know shit's going down.

Foxholes can be destroyed in a flash by support truck of HE+Smoke/halftruck/tank

That said I wouldn't mind an option to deconstruct structures for materials. Especially enemy structures that are no connected anymore. The other solution is to grab a truck with full of HE and get into cleaning duty.

>Join Able 2 Colonial
>Wardens pushing B6 bridge.
>Go to assist
>Colonials sending tank after tank uselessly into this position to die
>Outpost is nowhere near the bridge
>Warden tank eventually pushes us back
>Bridge is destroyed
>Colonials line up on bridge trying to repair it and are destroyed over and over again by Wardens on the other side with grenades instead of just abandoning the position and fortifying it.

>I wouldn't mind an option to deconstruct structures for materials
Isn't that what wrenches are for? And fine, not foxholes, but two or three well-placed pillboxes and a guard tower is plenty to protect a scrapyard safely behind your lines. Besides, while foxholes CAN get torn through by a halfway-organised squad, much less a platoon, when was the last time you saw one of those when everyone didn't have the same clan tag? Granted, the community in this game is WAY better than nearly any I've ever seen, but it's still like herding cats.

Basic fortress design escapes most engineers, who think they a) work for Donald Trump, developing a fetish for building the damn things EVERYWHERE and b) are in the Roman army, constructing square boxes, rather than designs that can take advantage of enfilading fire.

>Able 2
>Wardens and colonials get a truce together to rebuild the bridges
>as soon as the bridges are up the wardens push their armor across.

No peace! No surrender! No forgiveness! The colonial scum marched into our land like they own the place and we will push them back to the blighted waste they made of their home! The Wardens will fight and die until every last one of the enemy is wiped from our lands forever! Glory to the empire!

Plus, no need for a truce. Just use howitzers and field arty to keep the enemy off your back while you build. It's not hard.

Too bad it happened.
The colonials on able 2 are quality retards.

This. 9 times out of 10, blowing a wall is a tactical mistake.

>implying colonials everywhere aren't retards

A jeep would be nice, as an intermediate between the bike and truck.

Devs say they're working on it. As well as an Arty, gun piece, tow system.

...

That'd certainly help if we could hitch up field arty or MGs to trucks or jeeps and cart them where they're needed.

Is there ever going to be an air game, do you think? Or other uniforms/body armour?

When does the next round start? I wanna take a shower and shave first... I look and smell like a Colonial!

choppers please

Colonial logi game can be strong at times. The colonial infantry is usually garbage while the armor drivers are decent. Warden logi game can be weak at times but the infantry can do pretty well with what they have. Warden armor tends to be a crap shoot.

yeah me too, not sure when next round begins. Gotta get some snacks boys.

Not likely; choppers aren't very 1930s/40s which the game seems to be going for. Odds are the air game would need bigger maps too; but imagine having airbases; fighters; multi-crew bombers; maybe parachute planes capable of airdropping men and light vehicles like jeeps, bikes and field weapons behind enemy lines. It'd bring a whole new dimension to the battlefield!

That's to say nothing of the potential for adding patrol boats and frigates on coastal maps, for shore bombardment and such, though I'll admit that is less likely. Perhaps instead, there could be naval spawn bases and the players take those promised APCs or dinghies to the shore...

...

>warden defence is so poor we manage to just go around their wall and steal a bike

WoW, a one whole BIKE?

this game will never have aircraft and if you knew anything about video game design you would know that. it just won't work.

>DO NOT EVER TAKE MORE THAN TWO MAGAZINES
>h-heh, like I care about an entire bike

There's a lot of grunts taking ammo every single respawn, compared to that a bike is nothing.

you could have aircraft in a limited sense, like a chopper that acts like a transport with a lift-off/landing animation but it can traverse any terrain

Could have aircraft like those in the original Red Alert.

Fuck off, this is an infantry game. It's already starting to get a bit bloated as a game already.

>captcha: Select all helicopters.
NO CAPTCHA FUCK OFF

Not him, fucking no, and let me tell you why.

The whole game is now focused on positional warfare with breakthroughs, posing it somewhere between WW1 and WW2.

By implementing any sort of air support, you are devaluing worth of fortifications, frontlines and roads, thus undermining a lot of game mechanics and introducing even more chaos into already unstructured pub servers.

The moment you just rotflcopter your way behind enemy lines because you don't feel like working for it, logistics on both sides crumble, because no one will want to drive trucks in constant danger of it getting blown and wasting lots of time for fuckall.

The wars will become mad races to air and few people will opt for building defences anymore because they can't halt enemy advancement anymore.

And inb4 muh tanks, tanks are vulnerable to all kinds of munitions, fortification fire and their utility comes from being able to destroy fortifications by spending plenty of sulphur, but they still have to take on them head on instead of completly circumventing them.

Muh AAA means spending fucktons of bmat to cover every fucking part of frontlines and not only that with guns, which puts a strain on economy and map design alike, prompting their rework, which is the last thing we fucking need, not to mention effort involved in air shit itself.

And yes, I am mad, because I'm tired of seeing people throwing special snowflake ideas without taking a single minute to think the consequences through. You are better than this.

What we could use is jeeps, maybe even with an HMG option down the upgrade line. Flamethrowers. Illumination flares. Gun towing. Maybe better commanding/communication tools.

>footcuck mad that half-tracks and tanks btfo him

>special forces snowflake mad he has to earn his way behind enemy lines instead of being taxied there

We can do this shit forever, fuck off.

>wardens
>having anything that could be considered a `line' and not just a loose collection of ineffective defences that you can walk around

Speaking from the game I was just in, the fucking Wardens AND Colonials have a ass-sucking fetish for long, pointless walls that can be knocked through in SECONDS by a half-way determined offensive and serve no damn purpose besides blocking random lost soldiers trying to reach the front.

BOTH sides are full of drooling retards who don't have the first throbbing clue how2war. Only pre-made teams and communities really turn the tide or do anything useful besides the most basic mining and we all know it.

Logi do their job just fine, solo or otherwise, as long as frontlines cooperate and communicate.

I've also seen single people rallying randoms for good assaults on multiple occasions. It's not that bad.

That being said, the wall building fetish is real and I fucking don't get it. Especially the idiots building wall tunnels along the roads.

Just fucking spam foxholes, they cover wider territory for less resources and fight back, without giving enemy cover.

Walls are only good for providing additional security from direct fire to FOBs, that's pretty much it.

Maybe walls with bunkers and foxholes/bunkers up front at chokes that aren't contested, but mostly because they prevent enemies from smoking their way inside the lines when nobody's watching.

walls a great for forcing enemies to leave their fucking bush lines and run into your pillboxes

What did they mean by this?

Or you could just nade/mortar the little shits until they run home/into your guns.

Imagine how much better the game would be if satchels didn't cost a retarded amount of resources.

Flamethrower carrier? Y/N

Massive maybe. Either it'll be too sturdy and will be too OP, or it will get in flames and explode from a few shots, being a waste of resources and a riding bomb.

I don't think it's worth the effort to try to balance it. Hand held flamers will be fine, heavy, few shots per tank, tanks not swappable in the field. Or make a tank last like 2 shots, having more than two spares makes you orange and you can't stack spares in backpack.

Leaning towards this. Flamethrowers should be both really effective and really vulnerable. If it is just a guy carrying it, then it forces more teamwork through stuff like suppression and smoke coverage. If it's a vehicle that can just drive up on a line and roast people, then it becomes a bit more of a problem.

Then again, AT emplacements are ludicrously cheap in this game so it might not be a problem; Tanks themselves are already useless as fuck.

What we've got is light tanks right now, they aren't meant for heavy engagements.

I'm personally hoping for medium tanks crewed by 4 with bowgunner shooting LMG and a bit more hp, offset by maybe another level of veh tech and more resources needed for production. It can sport a large caliber short cannon, akin to early PZ IV KwK 75, shooting HE with fortification and infantry damage bonus. Light tanks can get an anti-vehicle bonus. We don't need anything heavier for these maps.

Would be nice to see smoke rounds for mortars, with no exmat requirement to build, will keep those useful in sulphur shortages.

Infantry flamers would have ammo produced in weapon factories with bmat and fuel, upping value of fuel a bit. Flamethrower troops could work really well with smoke cover and in close combat, to clear infantry out of fortifications, torch foxholes and supress both them and pillboxes from AI firing for a short time. Same with town buildings.

This. They can make them heavier, take longer to place, whatever. Just let me deal with a tunnel hatch if it's exposed in the wilderness without having to insist on leaving my team without artillery for an extra ten minutes.

>tunnel networks
>can't be used to move around secretly

what even was the point

The point is, you can't just roll into enemy town and offensive bunker the shit out of it.

They really should add ability to just open those and nade them to collapse or gas to make foxholes and networks neutral so there is more reason to hide these.

Perhaps a wrench to open one up and then it's only like 3 HE to destroy.

While we're at it, gas could instantly make foxholes etc. surrender and then wrench a surrendered one to turn it over or dismantle it. There'd be a whole lot less clutter on the maps that way, I can tell you...

When you try to secure a future for the white race

/pol/, go and stay go, we are tried of your edges scratching our shit

write it your tumblr faggot because I don't care.

On the topic of fortification, does anybody have links to US marine Sapper handbooks for Fortification to read? I want to get better at fortifying in Foxhole and I feel as if reading actual handbooks on entrenching positions would not only be useful but it sounds really interesting too.

They really should rename them to like "cache" or something, or like "Storage bunker' Tunnel Network seems such a bizarre name to give something like that.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095379769

Or gas to temporary disable every foxhole connected to it (unless it's connected to someting else)

>page 10

Biggest issue right now? The servers are either hoppin'... Or DEAD as FUCK.

Also, when's conquest mode coming back? I wanna try it out.

>the state of Wardens

twitchdottv/helpinghans

Holy shit I feel so sorry for you wardcucks I really really do

No (You) don't. Enjoy fapping to victory screens you literally did nothing to get.

>Did nothing
If all you needed to do to win was nothing, Wardcucks would never lose.

His stream is inadvertent comedy gold.

Shit, I think I was there

It was a night battle I think, some guy brought a HT and when the bridge was built, we rushed across but then the Wardens had a Tank immediately to meet us

>Have to become a commissar and moralize a group of 30 idiots to stop standing around in front of an enemy line of foxholes they're afraid to attack.
>Get them to find their balls and follow me while I lead the charge with a pistol so they can finally throw all those HE grenades they hoarded.
>We actually smash the Warden line of roughly 10 foxholes, though I die towards the end.

Watching the Wardcucks panic was worth it.

>wardens keep losing
>eventually every shitter hoping for easy win clogs colonial queues
>colonials still mostly winning, but full of insufferable shitters
>competent colonials get tired and switch sides
>wardens start winning
>shitters are suddenly loving wardens
>the cycle continues

I wonder if it would be different if devs really went for ambigious countries instead of Merrica vs frenchy germans.

How do we fix Warden playerbase?

When you're shitposting your low quality pseudopropaganda, at least don't make your own forces look bad.

Or was it just public masturbation on your end?

Warden players sure are insecure.

Colonials now can build gas chambers and have an american flag in their emblem. Anti-american russians and chinks plus edgelords thinking they're playing nazis will switch.

Put dildos on the helmets of both sides so both look stupid as fuck.

Just got this game. Which side should I play as?

Which ever one you like.
Dont by into the team shitposting.

It's not something that should be done within Foxhole - perhaps in a spinoff/copy/sequel.
Anything approaching modern warfare needs to play more like Wargame: Red Dragon for commanders and Arma 3 for players. In fact the top down view doesn't make sense for players in that type of game unless zoomed waay the fuck out. Modern tanks are fast, MRAP's are faster, and Heli's and jet's? Shieeet

The one that doesn't has less players, even out the teams

>being mad about planes dropping paratroopers

>It's already starting to get a bit bloated as a game already.

The game is pretty much complicated enough as is. Add the bigger tanks and I guess the harvester vehicle and I'd be happy to let it be.

Game should have as much content as possible desu.

Why are people so opposed to using artillery?

I have the same question too, there's no shelling happening at all whenever I play, maybe mortar shells aren't with the cost for the payout?

Artillery shells are expensive in terms of sulfur, so they compete with tank shells. You get less reliable hits when compared to just driving up in a tank and doing the old point and click. It's also harder to organise infantry pushes around. Infantry see a tank pushing, they push as well. Infantry see an artillery piece shooting the enemy TH to disable all defences, they walk on by because they don't know what the fuck that is. Artillery focused pushes after sniping and suppressing rebuilding of an enemy TH do happen, though.

It requires teamwork and you don't get to see the effects of your handiwork. Plus it's more effort to make the shells and move the thing.

Basically, much like any game, if you want to be really effective and use combined-arms warfare, then you have to use pre-made guilds and teams. Properly used, arty can turn the tide of the battle, but given you can't even trust people to leave their damn kit unlocked for others to use when they log out, you can't expect most chucklefucks to use something that doesn't result in instant and visceral gratification, unless they're ordered to.

Aircraft need a risk and cost to them, but frankly, I'd fucking welcome the change, because it'd finally nullify these dipshits who think building passive walls everywhere is a viable strategy! It'd force defences to concentrate, be cost-effective and not just have long, stretched out miles and miles of defences; it'd turn the game into WW2, rather than the eternal stalemate of WW1. You wouldn't NEED to spend loads of b-mats to cover every part of the front lines; just the crucial points that need defending!

And NEWS FLASH: Air power has changed the face of warfare FOREVER. Like it or not, it's a thing; we can't just ignore that it exists! Sure, it shouldn't be a method of risk-free transport and dropping troops wherever you want with pinpoint precision, but it could still add another interesting element to the game. Air power wins wars, but it doesn't win them in isolation; that was tried and it failed SPECTACULARLY.

This is some quality autism

Make the cost of walls proportionate to the number already built.

>The game is pretty much complicated enough as is.
4 basic resources only two of which get refined to actual mats.

Are you retarded this game is beyond simple

>Risk free transport.
>Implying there wouldn't be flack gun static defence, AA kit half-tracks and tanks, as well as enemy fighters.

They'd have to up the player number to at least 200-250 to even think about adding planes though.

>carpet bombing colonial scum
feel good count me in

Aren't three of them refined?

Scrap, components and sulfur. user is a little retarded, please understand.

>join random war
>pick random side
>get to FOB
>hm gunners wasting ammo
>other niggers wasting good ammunition plinking at a half track
>nothing is getting done
>they lose the building by the gate with the overwatch view
ok fuck this whatever
>go slightly up the road
>base has tons of explosives: rifle nades and rpgs
>one man army flank the halftrack and cuck 2 of them
>gas the builders trying to build a front

surely the cuckbois at the other gate are doing better now right?

>now there are 2 halftracks
>theyre still standing at the gates while 2 kids try to sound important
>russian going cyka blyat
>ching chong chinging and chonging
>squeaker squad noise intensifies

so this is true power of FOXHOLE!
Its only gonna get worse the more people pick it up too.

god i wish i had friends who actually want to play this shit game
god i wish i had friends

>yfw someone tries to steal your truck

>yfw they succeed and all you can do is reprimand them because they hauled ass

How do reprimands work, anyway? When I did it, I wasn't docked a commendation.

>mfw I always carry a wrench.
I always nig E.Mats. to feed my tank more shells

Fuck it, I'm just gonna go and unlock all the locked trucks and take out all the mats
