Loran Silverbeasts exhale flammable gas to breathe fire. Maybe BPS can secret a liquid that quickly evaporates and ignites on contact with air. But yeah, pyromancy clashes quite a bit with the game's theme of magic being alien technology

Wrong. I did NG+ and NG++ with story gems. Not difficult at all. Try levelling up.
