you farm the highest nodes you can (unlocked eventually by having gold dangos)
until you can buy the first two CE (500 and 2000). THEN would the 5AP be more efficient for drops since they drop around the same amount as the higher nodes but with lower dango per drops, that problem gets fixed by having 1~2 CE and one more from a support.

On JP yesterday I spent over 150k FP trying to get ONE of the new event gachas for summer.
Over here we PROBABLY will get it easier because they are less CEs, but if you have an steady flow of FP you're screwed.
