That's exactly why the new NSX was such a disappointment. They'd been developing it and teasing it for so long that there was no way they could live up to the hype they created regardless of how good the car actually was.

Deciding to make a "Homolagated" race car in an era of completely cucked motorsports to the point where Le mans barely has any prototype competitors because you aren't given options anymore. you either confine to the FIA's way of thinking as to what a "race car" is or you fuck off.

Spend 250 million a year on some fragile shitty prototype that could be easily embarrassed by one that's less than a quarter of its price or get told to fuck off. CUck your super car with a lower tier engine than what you could easily supply in your arsenal or get told to fuck off.

A V6 isn't necessary but BOP will hurt you if to go V8. the current rules favor small displacement forced induction engines, Ford probably realized they couldn't go V8 without BOP hurting engine performance so they went V6 for the best possible advantage under those rules. in a system like that participation isn't worth building the car around.

Yeah Ford makes V8s, but the modular is a boring engine. I mean at least it’s not the LS in terms of how drawn out it is, but it’s already pretty much at it’s apex. Throwing displacement at a problem is just boring.

The V6 is notable because it has impressive figures for such a small and lightweight engine.

Nothing. It's a fucking homologation special. It was never supposed to be some bench mark hypercar. From the start it was meant to win Le Mans and compete in the WEC and in the IMSA series. Three years in, and its already done both and won the 24hrs of Daytona back to back. The V6 is there for efficiency and because it makes for an easy marketing comparison for the rest of the Ford lineup. It also happened to be that Ford developed the 3.5 TT V6 race motor originally for the Riley Daytona Prototype in 2014, and by the time it was used in the GT, it was a well proven motor. It also happens that the GT has won several races just because its engine is more efficient at saving fuel than other competitors. The GT is a special car, and I personally think it, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the Lexus LC500, and the Giulia, are the best looking cars of the last 25 years.
